I take berberine as part of the 4 med protocol (Metformin+fenben)+statin+Doxycycline)

I am non diabetic. Berberine does what metformin does to metabolism.

I am doing great at present but I do not know if berberine is contributing to this good outcome. In fact, there is no way to know as I am on Lupron,Zytiga and many neutraceuticals/Supplements with anti inflammatory plant based foods.

Sorry, I missed this: you take Berberine or metformin? I don’t see Berberine in the 4 drugs you mentioned

Thanks

The four drugs which English company recommends and are selling for 60 dollars a month are (1) Atorvastatin (2) Doxycycline (3) Metformin and (4) Mebendazole.

I have modified and have my own 4 drug protocol which is (1) Red yeast rice (contains lovastatin) (2) Doxycycline 100 mg a day (3) Berberine (has metformin like effect) (4) Fenbendazole .

These four work just like the English protocol. Anti inflammatory food and spices are extremely important as more and more research is coming to conclusion that if you keep inflammation down in your body ,prostate cancer progression gets very slow.

How do you measure inflammation in your body ? There are two simple blood tests,

C Reactive protein (aim for less than 1.0) LDH (Aim for less than 120)

Hi. I do pretty much the same as Learnalot (ALL seems too optimistic). But I was taking berberine together with Metformin. I stopped the Metformin because of odd aches and pains. My PSA is stable, I think, at 1.25 with most of my prostate intact

I have both PC and Type 2 diabetes. I tried Berberine for about 3 months and if is made any difference i couldnt see how so i stopped. I have been taking Doxycycline 100MG and Atorvastatin daily for about 30 years due to other conditions i have. I also take a med called Ezetemibe which helps to keep my LDL below 70, and Metformin 500mg twice a day for my diabetes. I have not taken any of these meds to help control my prostate cancer, but this thread seems to suggest that they might or do or? Im not familiar with any info on this . I see so many communications on PC forums about the variety of supplements men take to help control their PC, but i wonder how many pills a day one can take so i dont take any supplements just to control the sheer volume of daily meds. That may be stupid on my part. I really dont know. I have never had a Urologist discuss, recommend or even raise the issue of using supplements, special diets etc to help control Prostate Cancer. I find that very discouraging, but I assume that to some extent, any healthy approach to diet, eating habits can only be helpful.

Lupron was slowly raising my dad's glucose into pre diabetic levels so having read that berberine could be used to lower the glucose levels and potentially aide in the battle against prostate cancer, we went ahead and added it into my dad's medicines. His doctor was not willing to prescribe him metformin because his levels were still low. He's only had one set of labs since starting it and so far we have seen his glucose levels drop a little bit and his PSA increase a little bit. His PSA has been on a slow upward trend for the past few tests so we were expecting a rise. He goes in for more Labs on the 20th. At that point he will have one round of provenge immunotherapy in his system but we'll have otherwise been on the same Therapies he was on before with the exception of casodex, which he dropped once his PSA started to rise. I know that isn't particularly helpful but we did see a drop in his glucose levels so I would say it is working in that respect. I certainly would not drop his other therapies for prostate cancer in lieu of berberine!
