cabazitaxel + what? Can anything be added to it?

Medical oncologists saying my next treatment to consider should be cabazitaxel. They only offer mono-therapy. Do you know anybody adding something to it so that it will have a better chance of working on bone tumors? Looking for your comments and knowledge from the group.

I did 7 rounds of Taxotere about 18 months ago, but didnt work as good as I wanted it to work. Had a good PSA drop from 20 down to 2 while on treatment but climbed back to PSA 20 within 3 months of finishing it. Think it helped a little, but still having bone progression in multiple pelvic areas, lower spine, femur. Followed with 6 rounds of LU177 and had some response, but as soon as I finished all 6 rounds, bone progression continued.

I need to deal with a very bad spot on L5 (compression fracture on that bone). Looking at radiation or surgery or both. Have a spot on femur that is getting bigger and at risk for fracture. Cant hurt to try something while waiting for other treatments to get scheduled, so I will self administer a tapeworm protocol using mebendazole while I am in-between major treatments.

My friend is getting cabazitaxel+ carboplatin, possibly followed by a PARP inhibitor - it is a protocol used at MD Anderson in a clinical trial:

He has also had Provenge, and Zytiga.

Have you discussed Xofigo?

Zometa+Celebrex extended survival by 22% in men with mets.

Good Morning Abmicro:

Have you Had any genetic testing? The reason I ask, is if you have any concrete evidence of repair defects, your insurance will cover A taxane chemo / platinum chemo blend.

Wishing you luck with your treatment. Your story has been an inspiration.

No gene mutations found in both foundation one and in a more extensive test of my blood.

Soft tissue mets often have neuroendocrine cancer cells that respond to platinum-based chemo such as Carboplatin. If this is the case with your cancer, you could add a platinum chemo to Jevtana. You would need to have a tissue sample looked at to find out. Not sure if you had a tissue biopsy or just blood.
