Hi,

Just inquiring whether anyone else is on this treatment path and wondering how you feel? I have been on these meds 4-5 months. I have no appetite. I have long bouts of nausea. Zofran does nothing and Phenegran just knocks me out.

Starting last week I started feeling so friggin fatigued. My get up and go got up and went.

Thanks for your response!

I was only on Lupron for a little more than 5 months. It hit me so hard that here I am now 1 1/4 years later and I am still fatigued....a little better each month, but also I have balance issues and some cognition problems. My blood work in all normal, my heart, after a full workup, is near normal, except I can't pass a stress test. I flew my self down to Mayo Clinic for Proton therapy, but could not fly back.....or ever again. The doctors, lots of them, have told me that my problems do not stem from Lupron after this long, but can not tell me why I feel so bad.

Had to sell plane, hot rod, motorcycle, mountain cabin before I got so off balance etc. that I couldn't use them, just couldn't afford them any more. At least I had assets to liquidate.

Hi, my Dad has been on ADT (Lupron, etc.) for 10 years and now as of January this year he started Xtandi and Xgeva as well....he does have some fatigue at certain times of the day but still manages to work in the auto repair industry full time. He is pooped when he gets home. He is juicing, laying off sugar and generally eats a healthy diet. He also drinks Ningxia Red which helps with energy and just yesterday started adding Collagen Peptide powder to his coffee for his bones and joints, in addition to, lots of vitamins:). Trying to manage the fatigue is a balancing act. I hope the fatigue gets better for you. Best wishes, Kimberly

Thanks so much. I have had 4 separate rounds of Lupron over the past 13.5 years. This combo is just fatiguing the crap out of me. Since my last Lupron only round I have had gastric bypass and lost 210 pounds. I have to be careful and selective with what I ingest.

210 lbs? Holy chit I thought I held the record when I lost 160 lbs of ugly fat..... that's when my ex-wife left me.....

It's most likely the added Erleada. Fatigue and muscle weakness were high on the lists of Adverse Events in the approval Study.

I added Xtandi after 3 years of initial Lupron, and almost 2 1/2 years later the fatigue on some days really kicks my ass, too. It still helps to keep moving, though.

(I'd do a "high five" in solidarity, but I don't feel like raising my arm that high and that fast right now. Ha. Ha.) Best of Luck!

Do you exercise at all? Believe it or not fighting fatigue through strength helps. You still have crappy days but good ones mix in more often.

Hi J C R, I’m not on your erleadea but have been on lupron and exgeva for six years. I have an aggressive type of prostate cancer stage 1V, yes extreme fatigue, hot flashes but I am still here. It’s not pretty but I figure my Doc knows best. Unfortunately we have to put up with the side effects. P. S. I have reached the ripe old age of 84 and I’m shooting for 90. Keep the faith you have a lot of living to do.

I can not tell how I felt, because I only took Lupron shots every 3 months for 6 1/2 years. After 3 years a bone scan showed I needed Xgeva shots and had one every 6 months for

1 1/2 years. I think the side effects of both Lupron and Erleada would be additive since they are similar. I no longer have cancer and I wish you well.

I have been on and off Lupron for three years and I have a love hate for it. Hot tea in the afternoon helps.

I am on Xtandi and Lupron...hot flashes are now mild and infrequent since on both...I lift weights , jog, paddle board and drink Odwalla protein mixed with Kylea Berry in the morning and Athletic Greens in water in the afternoon . Play golf , and feel normal...I get up at 6 to 7 and hit the hay usually at 9...last night stayed up till 11 ....when I feel tired I do something physical but that was the case even before Lupron...I hope it works out for you. Everyone is different on this stuff....Blue Skies

You and I have very similar cases! 59 yo, on/off Lupron since 2005, radiation, cryo-ablation. All have failed. However Lupron plus Erleada now working for 6 months. Still nmPCa. Not experiencing fatigue. Maybe just used to it. But you're on Xgeva and I'm not. Perhaps your doc can take you off it. I take Prilosec (generic scrip, cheaper) in morning, Erleada at night. Helps with reflux. Erleada reduces Prilosec efficacy by 80 percent if taken same time. My doc didn't tell me but CVS pharmacist did. Earlier in my journey Lupron did tire me but exercise – especially weights – helped. Good luck.

Hi. You may wish to talk to your MO. Xgeva is for bone loss not GERDS. It is a part of the normal treatment path with Lupron/Erleada.

I know! I used to take Zomeda for bone loss but such drugs are no longer indicated for me. I was just suggesting that if Xgeva is causing your gastro issues then maybe you can do without it or, if not, maybe a Prilosec-type drug would help.

At the age of 77 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in Dec 2017 gleason score 9 and started lupron Jan 2018 every 3 months. All went well with cancer (low psi and no evidence of metast) but I have gradually lost ability to balance myself. This is an on and off situation. Sometimes going for 2 weeks with minimal balance problems. Then it shows up and is again difficult to do any meaningful work. My next testing is due in late June. Since the cancer diagnosis, I have had cardio testing that proved very good. I hope that this info can be useful.
