How do I shake the fatigue that I am feeling from the combination of Lupron and Erleada?

I think most of the problem is coming from the Lupron but am not sure at this point. I am not slowing down with exercise, etc. but just do not feel well.

I drink a lot of coffee :-). Are you also on Xgeva as well? Would love to compare notes. Today as a matter of fact I am getting my second round (this time) of Lupron and Xgeva. I think the Xgeva screws with me more.

Cheers,

Mark

After I retired last January and I joined the local gym and I go 3 to 4 times a week. I spend an hour there doing a stationary bike for 30 minutes and lift weights for the remainder. I go after breakfast. It does help. I’m not an athletic person but I actually look forward to going.

I am already doing much of this. Dietwise I am leaving off most sugar, corn, wheat, dairy (except cheese), etc. I walk every day at the mall and do the treadmill as well. I also have an elliptical and a recumbent bike. I am doing dumbbell exercises several times a week. I do not want to get a personal trainer. The reason is that I tried this a few months ago, and the trainer I was assigned to had had prostate cancer. He was very angry and did not follow traditional medicine at all. It would not have worked out. I also have ankylosing spondylitis and Crohns and some exercises will not work for me now because of the damage already done from the type arthritis I have. I did try coffee today, and it helped. Thanks for the advice on that and for all the support.

Try a physical therapist who works with cancer patients. He/she will monitor your physical condition and recommend exercises to deal with osteoporosis, muscle loss, balance, etc.

Try taking the Erleada at night--may help sleep...then take coffee in am...keep working out...if you snore at night, sleep apnea is bad for APC and also leaves people feeling tired during the day...

All the best,

Fish

I'm on Lupron and Zitiga--severe fatique , coffee helps --walking and weights doesn't--no help from Drs ie drink red bull/check sleep apnea.

That's the correct attitude, there'll be good days n bad just like anyone else bro. SCI WHAT YOU LOVE, and don't accept No shorts or negative vibes from anyone, that'll kill your spirit. Use the God in you and live.

Excercise, a lot of coffee and some patients use Adderol or Ritalin prescribed by their doctors. I find a short nap in the afternoon really helps, not a deep sleep just close my eyes and rest for a half hour or so before dinner. Getting a solid 7-8 hours of sleep is essential, and I try to stay in a routine of when I go to bed and when I get up.

I have been walking every day, twice a day about a mile each time. Some days it wipes me out others it dosen't. No pattern really. If it wipes me out i lay down if not i keep going.

Helps im retired.

Hi there,

I've been on Lupron and Zytiga for the past 14 months and would hit a wall in the afternoon and would have to nap. I go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week (weights and cardio) but had to do this in the morning as my energy level would drop drastically in the afternoon. My sons girlfriend introduced me to celery juicing. I did some research and celery juice is the new wonder drug for many medical conditions, including PC and Crohns disease. I bought a good cold press type juicer and started early Feb. I would juice one whole head of celery, 1 beat, a few carrots, green apple, and a lemon. This worked wonders for my energy. I no longer hit a wall in the afternoon and have no problem going to the gym in the afternoon and no need for naps.

Do some research on your own and there's no harm in trying.

Good luck

Zoran

Anyone experience leg pain on Zytiga or Lupron? Dad gets it pretty bad in the mornings.

Hate to burst your bubble.... but I've been taking hormones for many years and have never had that "tired/fatigue" issue. However I've got Dolly Parton breasts and I can't remember what size bra I wear.

But I do indulge in chocolate chip ice cream (two scoops, I think).

I have been on ADT for over 2 years now, and for me the fatigue and brain fog have been a bitch. Coffee in the morning and mid afternoon helps. The brain fog has been a particular pain in the ass due to the fact that I am only 55 and still working a 40 hr week as a manufacturing engineer. I think Im going to ask my doc about a script for Ritalin, as long as its ok to take with my Xtandi and Eligard injections....... if not, Ive heard cocaine is amazing (kidding of course)
