I was wondering what side effects others have experienced with lupron and zytiga. My first few months were fine on both, but lately I’ve had a little cough and some headaches and dizziness. Has anyone else experienced this?

How's your BP?

Blood pressure is about 115-120 over 80.

It’s only minor, the dizziness and cough which I’ve read are side effects of zytiga. But they are there. Each week I seem to have a different ache or feeling, and my mind can run with it.

I've been plagued with a racing mind as well. Practicing mindfulness helped over time.

Yes it does. I’ve got more peace now than in the beginning. I just want to stay on top of any new changes that I may be feeling.

Hi, I've been in Lupron + Prednisone + Zytiga since the November/December. Side effects haven't been too bad, mainly occasional hot flashes and increased fatigue (good energy through most of the day, but tired by the end of day and sleeping 9 hours a night versus the prior 7.5). Also going through EBRT so hard to isolate side effects, but most of the above seems tied to the ADT+Zytiga.

Regarding the cough, headache, and dizziness, I do notice all of these a little too. Mainly, occasional lightheadedness/headaches that seem to come and go. I have been keeping an eye on my blood pressure and so far no big changes. I was feeling a little "hungover" at times (despite not drinking) and the last lab confirmed my liver enzymes had doubled from their baseline (still not too high, but something to watch). My MO reduced the prednisone a little (only one 5mg pill a day vs two) and that seems to be helping a little too.

Anyway, just my experience. Overall, I'm still leading a pretty normal life and exercising daily (which definitely helps me feel better). Hope this helps -- and good luck.

One other thing - the treatment is working. My PSA dropped from 4.5 to 0.37 within 4 weeks of Lupron and then Zytiga started and PSA dropped to undetectable <0.05 very shortly thereafter.

Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. My headaches seem to come and go as well. Exercise is a big help for me too. I usually do 5 times a week to help fight off fatigue and stay strong physically and mentally. I run on the treadmill and the dizziness doesn’t prevent that.
