Proton beam therapy please help
Hi did anybody try proton beam therapy. With Mets to lower their pas and did it help thanks sooo much
Will your insurance cover that? I know they cover SBRT for pain palliation.
Ty. Tall not sure about insurance. Can u tell me a little about SBRT.
It's what is usually used to relieve pain from bone mets.
use on the prostate also
I had it on my prostate, but I was not metastatic
Some studies suggest that its work on low mets
STAMPEDE did on 3 or fewer - how many do you have?
Iwill try to answer I have prostate cancer in my lungs and bones maybe 3or 4. plus lymph nodes but they are now normal
ANY visceral Mets means you won’t benefit from prostate organ treatment
lung met= visceral met
Sorry tall I didn't now what visceral was
"You Can Beat prostate Cancer" by Robert J. Marckini is the story of a man who went through proton beam therapy. He wasn't metastatic and you can't go through the Loma Linda treatment if you are, but interesting book.
I was going to spend all my money on it until I read a study that showed very similar results to other radiation. Brotherhood of the Balloon hyped it to no end. Some say it's a comparison of smart bomb vs. carpet bombing. I went with carpet bombing. 3mos. Lupron- 28 radiation treatments-3 mos. more Lupron resulting in a .8. Took 3mos. vacation from Lupron=36 PSA. On Eligard and feeling good. An acquaintance took same treatment at same facility = All good, no ADT, no nothing. It's a crapshoot.
Greetings Bob, Tell us more about yourself. Age? Location? Where you're being treated? and Doctor(s) name and any other specifics regarding your Pca. This will help in answering your future questions. The guys (and ladies) here are terrific.
