I took it for six months. Both the juice and the capsules . No results. It is popular here in Miami. Also called guanabana

I tried soursop tea. Other than making me sleepy, it had no effect.

I investigated graviola in the research literature and did not find a trend of positive anticancer results that would justify spending money on it. Here is my history and the natural supplements I urge you to consider. Please familiarize yourself with pubmed.gov and the cancer journal abstracts that you can quickly access.

I was diagnosed at 70 in Nov., 2012 in AZ with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, with two pelvic bone mets, G 8. I was on IADT until August 2016. No radiation and no surgery. My urologist prescribed Casodex and a Lupron shot. Six months on then six months vacation.

I am now on continuous ADT after an August 2016 move to FL (son at US Central Command- Tampa) and it is just a six month Lupron shot. My Florida urologist believes continuous gets better results.

In 2015, a year before moving, I started doing research on complementary medicine treatments with natural supplements. (I am skeptical of "alternative medicine" regimens and favor those compatible with leading-edge radiology and/or chemotherapy solutions.)

I have used Dr. AKM Shamsuddin's 2011 book (go to Amazon for “IP6 and Inositol…”) and the cancer research (aka inositol hexaphosphate, phytate, phytic acid) he reports on in his text. I used IP6 powder heavily for 7 weeks (I still take it daily) before my next appointment with PSA feedback in mid-summer 2015. My results surprised my urologist and brought in a number that was lower than he anticipated (0.1), and caused him to ask for a DRE. He could not palpate any nodules and this left him very surprised. I should add that the pelvic bone ache from the two mets I had been experiencing stopped. I currently take IP6 powder from Enzymatic Therapy's Cell Forte powder. I might add when I got here to Florida my new urologist did not believe the medical history he was reading. He asked for a DRE. He gave me a DRE that should be enshrined in the Urologist's Hall of Fame. He finally stopped and said he agreed - there were no palpable indications of cancer.

I also use Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka's book (Beta Glucan: Nature's Secret") and the Transfer Point company's Beta 1,3-D Glucan (#300) based on Dr. Vetvicka's research into beta glucan efficacy across brands. Dr. Vetvicka is the foremost authority on fighting cancer with natural immunomodulation through glucans. See his interviews at vitawithimmunity.com and certainly read the 3rd edition of his book.

These are my two major supplements. When I take the beta glucan it is combined with resveratrol and Vitamin C as Dr. Vetvicka recommends (his studies found a clear synergistic relationship when the 3 are taken together - on an empty stomach.

I have found the following supplements have superior findings in the anticancer research literature. I now take capsaicin/cayenne combined with naturally sourced lycopene (e.g., V8 juice, tomato soup, pasta sauce, etc.,) turmeric/curcumin with piperine added for enhancing bioavailability, berberine (natural molecular equivalent to prescription Metformin, red yeast (natural molecular equivalent to Lovastatin) grape seed extract, quercetin, Gamma E with Tocotrienols combined, Vitamin D3, Green Tea extract decaf, and, very importantly, European milk thistle with Isosylybin A and Isosylybin B.

These have been added incrementally, thereby complicating building a model of causation.

My PSA last time in my doctor's office measured 0.06, the same score I had six months previously. This is a downward trend as summer 2017 at a major cancer center here in Florida it had been 0.45. The MO who I was seeing was clearly bored by my medical history and declined to talk about IP6 or any natural supplements. I have not returned to this cancer center. I have a new MO in Brandon, FL who I will visit this September.

My FL urologist believes it is all attributable to the Lupron, but does not have an explanation for why this score - my lowest PSA score ever - should have been achieved more than 5 years after diagnosis. He knows about my natural supplements but apparently considers it just my eccentricity.

Best of luck on your graviola decision. I hope I have given you some options to investigate. You or anyone reading this post should message me if you want more details on dose, sourcing and branding of product(s), and timing of dose - for any of the above.

I am sure you realize, teasing out cause-effect would be impossible with so many variables in play, as I suggested above.

Your happy vegan, CalBear74

PS I became a vegan a year ago because of the influence of Michael Greger's "How Not to Die" book. His videos, including the ones on phytates (IP6), lycopene, etc., etc (there are hundreds) will help in life style enhancements. Be sure to download his phone app The Daily Dozen with hundreds of whole plant food ideas that can help eliminate the food our culture tells us is acceptable and not carcinogenic.

Soursop leaves? Hell I use grape leaves when I make my dolmades.

Good Luck and Good Health.

Yeah, I took that pill, graviola, for awhile. Then again I took almost everything for awhile. I'm in some kind of remission but don't know why. That's the problem with going , 'kitchen sink' , you can't tell what worked. Gleason 9, PSA 31, 3 bone mets, doubling 5 months, stage M1. I'm 7 years out , Lupron only for 3.5 years then Lupron and Xtandi for 3.5 years. I was diagnosed in 2012. My bone mets have shriveled up, PSA undetectable at .02, clear pet, cat and bone scans. Waiting for the next shoe to drop.
