As I understand it, Zytega combined with lupron has been proven to extend life longer than either one alone when used at first diagnosis of metastasis . Maybe you should talk to your dr about being on both ? But lot smarter minds on this site than mine.

Sorry to everyone who replied to me. I just found where I asked the question. Thanks for telling me what you know. Kind of a wait and see thing this cancer. Since my biopsy I’ve had 4 dr visits lasting a total of 1 hour. I think they don’t want to talk about what’s ahead for you. Or they don’t know.

I was diagnosed in 2011 and had surgery and radiation. In 2016 the PC "returned" and I went on lupron. After a brief lupron holiday, my PSA surged upward. Three months ago, I restarted lupron and added Zytiga. That combination was successful in significantly lowering my PSA; so it worked!

Good luck!

Hi Carlo86,

I have been in this battle for almost six years (please see bio for complete treatment history).

Early on, I had Zytiga and prednisone which worked for about 18 months. Radiation was much later after all drugs (Xtandi, high dose ketoconazole, leukine, Lynparza, etc.) had failed.

Best wishes. Never Give In.

Mark, Atlanta

Wondering when they would start the radiation. Shrinking the tumor at this point. Proton radiation I think but I have no answers for sure. One radiologist says imrt another at different cancer center says proton.

Hi Carlo Zytiga,Prednisone and Eligard has worked for me. I started with Gleason of 8&9 across the board, bone mets, and lymph nodes affected. I was at a PSA of 14.7 and after one month it is now undetectable. It will be almost five complete months on it and I feel better then I have in years hopefully it will stay that way for along time. The only side effects are occasional hot flashes which are tolerable and ED which is managed. Best of luck I hope the Zytiga works for you if you choose that course of treatment.Leo

Love the hot flashes. Makes me think it’s working. However my wife refuses to feel sorry for me on that one.

I've been with Zytiga for 11 months and the results are very positive. My PSA 1350, a very high PSA. after 15 days I had it at 97 and in a month at 3. Currently 0.17. Side effects, aside from sweating, I have no other effect. The tired the solution with a lot of physical activity, totally controlled.

I hope you have good luck.

Thanks for the exercise tip. I’ve been fighting the fatigue.

Keep fighting. I am 52 years old, diagnosed at 51. I have been walking, everything I could, from the first day. It has cost, but I can tell you that last weekend I made a route of 25 km. And now the fatigue is 0.
