Hi Folks, just saw a couple of Science Magazine articles on the role that elevated lactic acid plays in tumour progression. Here is one, and this link will recommend a few more. I'm interested if anyone has started methods to reduce lactic acid?

Lactic Acid and Tumour Progression
I associate lactic acid with exercise. I'm not stopping my exercise regimen. I'll trade a healthy cardiovascular system over some questionable risk associated with prostate cancer.
Actually, I think the findings are the opposite of what you are saying. Lactic Acid has been assumed to be a by product of exercise for the past 30 years or so. What is emerging is that Lactic Acid is produced by muscles to fuel themselves and it is in fact more efficient than glucose. So when muscles are under stress like when exercise, they produce lactic Acid. Lactic Acid appears to be taken up faster than glucose as it is actually a preferred fuel source. This is from Berkley

I have not studied the cancer journal articles on Lactic Acid, but it can be found in numerous popular food sources: meat, pickled food, dairy products, fermented soy products, cheese, yogurt, koumiss, sourdough bread, and soy sauce, to name a few. This is not an exhaustive listing. The stuff is ubiquitous.
Go to nutritionfacts.org. for additional information on diet management. This problem, if fully validated, would then be a solid justification for becoming a vegan.
Nutritionfacts.org offers videos on how to treat advanced prostate cancer through diet. I became a vegan in 2017 for medical reasons mainly. (I am not the PETA type of vegan.)
Be sure to download the phone app "Daily Dozen" from Dr. Michael Greger at nutritionfacts. He has a video explaining the value of this app. This is a very useful tool for living within the boundaries of veganism, yet having a huge assortment of delicious food selection ideas for home cooking and food preparation.
Dr. Joel Fuhrman has videos at youtube.com which are also very useful in managing an anticancer nutrition program.
Don't forget to supplement with vitamin B12 if you go vegan (or get close to it). Dr. Greger will explain why.
Good luck with your diet management. I have never felt so good from the food I eat.
Your happy vegan, CalBear74
