Here's a link to this therapy which is legal in California and other states. It comes from Canada and cost $1,500 a month. 3 month treatment is suggested by this website for prostate cancer.

$1500 a month is a huge amount of money. In states where medical cannabis is legal, that would buy at least 5 ounces a month of high-potency buds, or the equivalent of about 4 ounces that have been extracted and concentrated into oil, dust, edibles, or shatter.

Every patient is different, but I don't know of anyone who uses medical cannabis in those amounts. They probably exist, I just don't know them.

This suggests that Simpson Oil is putting a rather large markup on medical cannabis products that are available in Canada and many US states. It also suggests that buyers in states where medical Cannabis remains illegal are at some risk of prosecution should Customs or local LE discover these shipments.

It takes mucho buds to extract oil. $1500 a month would imply something like 7.5 oz of bud or flower a month at $200 / oz. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Whether the Rick Simpson oil will do the trick is another matter.

Here’s the math. It takes 1-11/2 lbs of material to produce 1oz of RSO. In dispensaries in cal., co. And Az. A gram costs from 45 -75 $. Rick Simpson says 60 gm in 90 days. Start with 1/2 grain of rice working up tolerance up to 1-2 gms per day at the end. So 60 gms x say $50 =$3000 .. so $1500 per month you only need a month and a half , that’s not bad. There are folks in co. Making this oil for cancer for sale .. for $20 gm .more reasonable than dispensaries.. unfortunately most states you can still be charged. But someone using for terminal cancer . I doubt it. The best way is to make it yourself. But you need to either grow your own or have a friend that’s a grower to get material for free. That’s easy in the legal states. Not so easy in Kentucky where it’s still 5 yrs for a plant. This is only for those interested not for those that don’t believe in the healing of this very useful plant...

I do...but still have cancer, but I'm a much happier soldier. It helps with pain, sleep, outlook, and maybe slows down the cancer on the margins.

I did use Simpson oil or cannabis oil same thing, before I got any protocols from the doctors. it did work but a bit too expensive, I started using apricot seeds that has shown some great results along with radiation treatments and hormone therapy. I am just eating the apricot seeds and changed my diet, the least amount of sugar and animal fat too. eating mostly plant food. my psa has been checked twice in the last 6 months and it was .1 and the most recent is still at .1 so everything I am doing is working for me.

I eat the raw seeds that url I posted you can order them there. i eat around 20 seeds a day. you can research it on youtube to learn more, there is always pros and cons. so do your research so you will have knowledge , I believe it does work and everything I am doing is working so I will stay on my regime.

I see a Harvard MD who specializes in medical cannabis. He's quite up to date on both formal medical literature and less formal developments.

The case for hash oil killing or treating cancer is weak to non-existent. While there are CBD receptors in many cancers, we haven't yet learned how to exploit them for treatment.

The situation is difficult in the US because of the ban on federal funding of cannabis research. The EU and other parts of the globe have been investigating, and while there are many interesting results, the evidence of curative powers is weaker than e.g., high dose vitamin C or laetrile.

The benefits of medical cannabis are mostly in treating the many side effects of conventional treatments such as nausea, pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and fatigue. Cannabis emphatically does work for most people in alleviating those symptoms.

Rick Simpson's on-line formula for extraction is suspect. It uses highly toxic petroleum based solvents. Real studies in real labs have shown that these solvents persist after extraction. Simpson dismisses these results by stating that the medicine is powerful enough to overcome the toxic effects.

Better still not to poison the patient. The same studies showed that simple olive oil extractions were just as efficient in extracting the active ingredients, with essentially zero potential for toxic byproducts.

The Simpson protocol calling for 1 gram of oil per day shows that the oil is quite dilute. A gram of active ingredients would flatten a horse. A dose of 0.02 grams (20 milligrams) of 1:1 CBD:THC oil will make even experienced users quite intoxicated for several hours.

The Simpson Oil website is dubious at best. I can't find even a claim that they have any association with Rick Simpson. Their own claim to legitimacy is on their website in the FAQs:

"Considerations when choosing a treatment protocol supplier: do they have a distinct website, do they have a direct phone number, and do they accept credit card payment. Simpson Oil can answer yes to all of the above."

Yow. A website, a phone number, and they'll take a credit card. There are plenty of hookers who meet that criteria, but I wouldn't suggest asking for them to treat your cancer.

Very good words of caution. It’s buyer beware. Your are correct in saying that it’s not proven due to being illegal to even test in the U.S. Today on dr Oz Olivia Newton John a 25 yr breast cancer survivor and MM proponent said that there are studies making progress in Israel as we speak on the benifits of MM. Things have come along way since Rick Simpson using a rice cooker . But in theory he was correct that making your own is best. You don’t need to be a chemist. Although that would be great. A chemist can make pure THC , this is a plant based product. If distilled properly with everclear the alcohol and toxins are distilled away . Is there a better way? I’m sure . But this is the simple mans formula..

Gotta love Everclear. I have thinking of getting some for just this purpose. (Ex-chemist here so maybe i can still do the distillation.) Living in FL MMj is legal - but not if you want to smoke it or grow your own. Go figure. I use a weak (13% and 12% THC and CBD) to get to sleep and stay asleep. Works great in a vapor pen. If my cat wakes me at 4:00 a couple of puffs and I sleep until the alarm goes off at 8:15 for my thyroid pill. And the dispensaries will sell you Rick Simpson oil for a very high price. No thanks.

I like your style and attitude.. the only thing that’s fare to the public is for people to grow there own and not be forced to buy from dispensaries. Look how tobacco was able to run roughshod over the public’s health controlling Congress thru lobbying . I'm not sure, I think snake oil from a "Cancer Curing" standpoint. I do agree that a "regular" dose enjoyed on the back patio is beneficial in helping with the side effects of cancer and all the drugs we all take, but I don't think RSO will cure cancer. In the beginning you start taking the equivalent of a grain of rice, but by the time you are up to the normal dose, you are taking 15 times that, so you are so stoned, you won't remember to do anything. In Colorado, if you have a medical card, you can buy a 50/50 mix (RSO quality) and get enough for a full treatment in one buy. I have family in CO, and was going to see if I could use them to find someone with the card to buy me the stronger mix. If you don't, you can buy the oil but is only 1/10 strength, in limited quantities. I spoke with some folks in California, one "dude" told me that if I had taken chemo, it would take 3 times as much RSO to cure me now vs using it before chemo. (I think he was part time surfer and part time pot store employee, but quite knowledgeable). I continued to do research and gave up because I really couldn't find that many websites with any proof it cured cancer. CBD oil will do nothing for you, you need THC/CBD oil and that mix needs to be at least 50%+ THC if you want to take that route. I think if the RSO really worked, there would be more real news about it, especially on this site which I've done searches and not been able to find very many threads with positive responses.

I'm not claiming any of my numbers or percentages are accurate since my research was from months ago, although I know the oil is a 50%+ mix of THC and CBD oil, the number being higher needing to be THC. Seems like I saw some on Craigslist offering up to 80% THC and shipping anywhere.... buyer beware!!!

I’ve been taking CBD oil for about 3 months now. The only positive benefit for me has been sleeping better. After my 3rd chemo treatment my psa is rising so I don’t think it’s curing cancer.

I tried it for 4 months with good oil, THC oil and my psa went down 2 points. Not enough for me to pursue it again unless I try the CBD as I was way to high for that time. I am trying Good beta glucan and 4mu along with pectisol c. We will see?

When I was diagnosed 6 years ago, I heard about RSO. After some research I dropped it like a super hot potato. I still feel that way. I may buy some now because it is a little cheaper than it was, it would give me the CBD to help me sleep and the THC to relax me. If I do that, I will post here.

I don't claim to be any kind of expert and most of the research I did was long ago and so much has been forgotten, since it was before chemo, Lupron, morphine..... Has anyone else had that problem?

I did dig back and find the dispensary in Colorado that offered the 50/50 mix of THC/CBD oil at $40 a gram with a medical card. With the card, you could buy up to 56 grams in one day. An out of state recreational user can buy a gram for $40, but it is only a 10/90 THC/CBD mix and a limit of 8 per day. I never perused seeing if any of my family members knew someone with a medical card. I never felt confident enough about the quantities needed to be ingested to achieve the "claimed" results I could never verify. Here is the website that sells it and the instructions and claims.

Okay, reading up the thread, I think it was FCoffey made mention that a drop of this stuff made you intoxicated for several hours, and how much is the dose for a child to control the seizures? Are children able to benefit from the lower dose 10/90 mix or do they need the higher dose as well. I just can't see a child being able to handle it, but maybe everyone builds a tolerance to it? I'm not being argumentative, I just don't know and would like to know, I couldn't stay that stoned that long.

You do build a tolerance . Same as with most drugs. I’ve become quite fond of it with 3yrs of continued use. Simply put , It makes life more fun and tolerable. Breaks the monotony of APC and limits the worrying dept,..by deflecting thought to enjoying what’s in front of me at the moment. That’s just me. I’ll go the Rasta route gladly.. $40 is a good price if the quality is correct...... I have a friend that at 25 in Michigan started having violent seizures up to fifteen times a day. Top docs could not help. Excellent post, Genie. Two things I left out in my first reply: I first started using cannabis when I was 20, which is 52 years ago. So I am used to full THC and CBD products from the street. Only when I finally got my card did I move to to Medical MJ and I am satisfied with what I can get legally, and my wife is very happy that I use MMJ instead of street pot.

Secondly, I have been reading a good book on the subject, "Cannabis for Chronic Pain" by Dr. Rav Ivker which my wife found for me at our local library here. Lots of very good information. The Dr. lives in Colorado and runs a clinic there for holistic healing, and Cannabis is just a part of his protocol. I recommend the book to anyone interested in the subject.

I’ve heard this all before and believe it to be true.Didnt know about the one inch. That’s makes great sense also .The sups I’ve used are 1/2 coco oil and they immediately melts on contact with skin. The big problem is finding the right mix , here in Canada 20/10 is considered a good ratio.you also need to determine what is the main reason for taking it.For sleep I use an endaca blend, for energy I use a sativa blend cost 10 too 20 buchs a gram of pure oil which I cut with amond oil ,, sativa is great for fatigue.
