I wanted to reach out and say thank you to those who gave our family hope, information, and support over these past 2 years. My dad passed away yesterday. He was my world. He developed sepsis secondary to low WBC after chemo. His body had enough and he went peacefully.
Diagnosed in 2011, tried all standard medication( Zytega, xtandi, etc) Radium 223. 2016 metastasized: PSA was anywhere from 700 to lowest of 200. Tried Taxotere, then Jevtana, and was on carbo/Jevtana till he passed. We went to Sloan Kettering, Dana Farber, and Mass General. I had him all over! He was also transfusion dependent receiving weekly transfusions for over a year and a half. That’s about 100 blood transfusions.
I, as his daughter, will continue to bring awareness and keep his account going to help others. I have been with him every step of the way. Thank you again and keep fighting!

I'm truly sorry to hear about your loss. Although no words can take away the sorrow that you bear. May it be comforting to you to know that you are not alone and we care. You are a wonderful Daughter, not everyone is willing to take care of their Fathers the way you did. I applaud you for that.
May God give you and your family that peace that only HE can give you.

Losing my dad to Alzheimers after eight years of suffering was the worst. Know that you are in our prayers now and in the days ahead. Baring a miracle, this lies ahead for most of us on this site. So sorry for the loss of your Dad. You did so much for him. You will be doing lots of things in the next few weeks. If you need to talk about anything in the days ahead, or after a while, know that you can still come here for support.
We should all be so lucky as to have as caring a daughter as you. I am sorry for your loss, and I am holding you in my heart. I hope a flood of happy memories will overtake your pain.
So sorry to hear your dad has left us. He was a very lucky man to have a daughter like you. Support from our loved ones is what gives up hope and courage. Our hearts are with you!

Hello, I am fairly new to this support group but as a Christian I drew strength from God my Father as I fight this battle/trial of life. I pray that you too can do so and get your comfort from Him as you mourn the loss of your dad.

As a Dad, and a relatively new participant in this community, thank you for being a caregiver, and for staying engaged, as you say, to bring awareness and help others. I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. I am new to this community but sincerely appreciate the advice you guys provided to my Dad this week, who is in a similar situation with transfusion dependence. I will keep you, your Dad and the rest of your family in my thoughts and my prayers.

I am so sorry of your loss. My deepest condolences. I was also a caretaker for my Dad while he fought lung cancer until the end. Now, i am battling this disease and like you, i have my three sons looking out for me.
Please accept my condolences. Loosing a dad you loved and cared for isnt easy. Be comforted by the fact that you cared for, advocated and supported him through this illness.
May your father rest in peace. It may sound like a cliche, but I believe that sometimes a father/daughter relationship is one of the greatest gifts in this world.....

I am so sorry and saddened by your loss. Personally, I am ready to go but there are a few more things I would like to do with my family. I am sure your Dad would have wanted to spend more time with you also. It was so good that he had you for comfort during this fight. Cancer is just awful.
I have 3 daughters and find an unbelievable amount of strength through them. I can guarantee your father felt the same. His memory will walk with you always.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know your father must have been very proud of you. You were in his corner and helping him fight this awful disease. He was so lucky he had you there. It is never easy losing a beloved parent and it will take time to grieve. Know that one day it will be easier. He will forever be in your heart.
I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. It certainly sounds like he fought as hard as he could and you have been with him all the way which I think was a great support for him.
