Finally got the results of my bone and ct scans yesterday! Im very happy about that gor sure. But raises some questions. The nurse called with my results o it was not an appointment so i didn't get to ask to many questions. The ct results stated cancer is contained within the postrate. 7 years ago i had 39 radiation treatments so salvage surgery is out. As is more radiation. My psa rose from 3.7 to 9.8 in 3 months so something is definitely going on.
I will be going to the Lombardi Cancer Center probably in a month or so. Im just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation or know what treatments wold be best to look at?

Sorry that it is coming back. It is hard to treat the prostate after radiation. Hard but not impossible. There are a handful of doctors that will operate on men who’s radiation had failed. But I would not recommend it. It is high risk do to the amount of scar tissue that forms with radiation. Outside of ADT, the most common treatment is cryotherapy. However, recently concern has come up dealing With side effects if to much tissue is frozen. That said, it may be your best option. Make sure that you go with someone that has done hundreds if not thousands of these procedures. The use of high intensity ultrasound is also an option. The key here is to find someone who is experienced enough in the procedure as it is not that old. Depending on where you are, immunotherapy, which is still being flushed out may be an option.
I am not a medical doctor (I am a retired chemist), but I would tend to lean to cryotherapy along with ADT. The reason is that I prefer an expert in an established procedure vs a novice in a cutting edge one. The ADT is to deal with any traces of the cancer that the procedure missed.
Again, that is the way I would go. You must find the path best for you. Whatever path you choose please know we are all with you. As the song says “people like us we have to stick together”.
If you are thinking about Zytiga think about also using it with Lupron. They found “game changing “ results using the two together. Please see the below
Been on the Zytiga for 14 months with ADT and was put on Xtandi a year ago as well. Muscle mass is gone and arthritis is an issue but. Better than 5he chemo
Hope to never have to go on chemo. With Lupron and Zytiga my muscle loss is a crime against humanity. But I am still here. I agree, joint pain is so bad that I am always on pain meds. But the fact that I (we) are still here is the best side effect.

I have an appt. with a Dr. Yi Kim at Rutgers in New Brunswick, NJ. He is about to begin a study of mPCa patients and removing the prostate. Actually, he was just awarded the cash. I hope to qualify.
Let your past be gone that was your high psa after 39 radiation treatment. Radiation kills good and bad cells so when your blood cells gets kill your psa is elevated.
Looking at your lastest Scan reports you are doing extremely well. So stop worrying/stress as this has a very acidic pH of 3. And if you worry for too long you are going to harm yourself.
