Lipitor or Crestor

Is there any factual information as which works better with Zytiga, Lipitor or Crestor? Also what is the recommenced dosage? Thanks for the replies (if any).

This morning I criticised Dan59 for using your famous phrase.

On the 22 Dec 17 when I was discharged from the Hospital after my 2nd Cystoscopy I have planned to visit an oncologist on 15 Jan 18 and discuss about Zytiga. But then Neal who was 18 months into Zytiga is now castrated so the drug is not working on him anymore,

He just mentioned he had Advanced to provenge,

Withy this new findings I have escalated my treatment away from doxycycline/vitamin c,

I am having an amazing experience,

Forgive me but I think you are mixing cholesterol medications with ADT. I don't think you can make a comparison of Zytiga and Crestor or Lipitor. Taking a cholesterol med does have an effect on PSA but if Zytiga is working for an individual patient it would be a better way to go. If you are going the ADT route do not forget Casodex or Aboratorone. Each of these can do well and could in fact be taken in secession. As one stops working go to the next. These are palliative treatments and have a limited time use. Each works in a slightly different manor and therefore each would be useful taken singularly.

No, many people take a statin, (Crestor or Lipitor) in combination with Zytiga, Not in place of Zytiga. Read my post again please. Thank you.

There are only 3 studies involving Zytiga & statins & they do not compare statin types:

Personally, I would choose Lipitor (Atorvastatin) over Crestor (Rosuvastatin) - more lipophilic. & I would use the highest tolerated dose.

Notice that the rosuvastatin dose is 5 times the atorvastatin dose - to achieve a similar effect.

I don't take zytiga (yet). I do take atorvastatin, as a general health recommendation. I tried simvastatin but had to give it up -- it seriously aggravated my GERD/reflux condition, causing nasty heartburn that I otherwise suppress with omeprazole.

I use another hypercholesterolemia drug called Livalo (pitavastin) 4mg. by Kowa Pharmaceuticals. This drug causes less side effects on the liver due to a lower dosage levels than Lipitor, Crestor, and Mevacor.

Greetings. I know you are one of the few veterans and a guru.

A few days ago I was contemplating to discuss Zytiga and ADT with oncologist which I am going to me 15 January 18.

Then Neal put up a reply that Zytiga which he was on for 18 months has begun to fail.

I was now concerned and after chatting with Dan59 on Christmas Day here in Sydney time I have decided to escalate my treatment with high dose of baking soda/honey. I am doing another Lab Rat Run and hoping that I won't get kill first from my treatment rather than the cancer.

I have been feeding some of my experiences here and there in this forum since then.

This morning I like to announce that I am pain free and can go jumping around.

What is your take? my friend.

Hi, I use Co-enzyme Q-10 200mg daily to help stop muscle weakness and pain. Also, I have less weakness with Livalo.

Thanks Nalakrats. I'm lining up the arsenal for my upcoming adventure with Zytiga which I have yet to start. I talked my pcp into giving me 40mg of atorvastatin daily even though my cholesterol numbers are near perfect. Appreciate your time.
