Hi--I understand for the helpful posts that I received in search of an alternative to Dr. Snuffy Myers following his retirement that Dr. Emmanuel Antonarakis at Johns Hopkins is someone that Dr. Myers has suggested. Would love to hear from anyone out there who has had experience with Dr. Antonarakis. Thanks.

Hi 4luvofrob,

Never consulted with him, but you might get some additional flavor of him by watching several of his videos from recent years.

Dr. Antonarakis is primarily a researcher, as opposed to a clinician. I became his patient by enrolling in one of his clinical trials. I have been very happy with him.

Dr. Antonarakis has been my husband's med/onc since March. He came highly recommended by my husband's surgeon as well as by someone very knowledgeable about PCa. My husband was very pleased with his first appointment. He said that Dr. A spent a lot of time with him, answered all his questions thoroughly and patiently. It was recommended my husband have genetic testing due to family history. Dr. A called to let my husband know he does have a defective gene which will direct the course of future treatment when/if needed. Dr.A also responds very quickly to email. We will be seeing him in August and I am looking forward to meeting him. I hope this helps.

Thanks, Chris...your reply is very helpful and encouraging. I wish you and your husband all the best! Maybe we will meet one day at Dr. Arntonarakis office?

We see Dr. A. March 6. He is also a clinician. We feel very fortunate to be able to see him. We live in St. Louis and the Care here, at the top cancer hospital, is 10 years behind Johns Hopkins.
