The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.
What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.
That's the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.
Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost - "Life"
When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading - "Book of Healthy Life"
Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

I'm pretty sure that this has been debunked, though really good sentiments they are. His wife reported that his last words were something like, "oh, wow, oh, wow, oh, wow" as he breathed his final breaths. theguardian.com/technology/...
I believe that some thoughts stand in great value, no matter if their origin can be authenticated or not, so, good to have had this to read.

I am not an American. But I have known Steve Jobs as a great innovator and achiever. I can't forget him because daily I am using a computer. This note I have collected from somewhere and treasured in his memory, overwhelms me for the sheer meaningfulness of the sentiments expressed. When I read them first, I had no intention to contact his wife to check whether it was written by him or his driver! I apologize most humbly if anyone is disturbed by a question mark as to its authenticity for which I have no answer.

Thank you very much Greg for sending me sufficient evidence like Darryl to prove that the text I posted as Steve Jobs' Last Words is a FAKE. When somebody showed me the moon I didn't look at the finger and I saw the beautiful moon! Both facts of evidence are good enough even to be proved in a court of law. On the contrary, "OH WOW, OH WOW, OH WOW" could have been his very last words in the death bed. A dead man's last words should not necessarily mean what he uttered to the hospital nurses or the family members surrounding him when he was sinking whilst facing a grim moment. Like a properly articulated "Last Will" these words could have been what he would have told from time to time in his proper senses during the last stage of his life prior to death. More often than not people argue about "Who said what and who wrote what". This is the case even with the Holy Bible! Then comes the question of Authenticity. We have read and appreciated many, many writings of the great Poet William Shakespeare for many decades. Yet some critics say no such authentic person ever existed! In a way this whole life is a FAKE!!!
Just want to be clear. I like and agree with much of the text written in the "quote". But I feel that Steve Jobs is being used to promote something he never said. I'm not trying to criticize the poster. Rather than elaborating in this reply, I am going to write my own separate post because there is a much bigger issue here.
Perhaps people near death don't always see things clearly. Apple was always about more than making money. When the Mac first came out it had great reviews but poor sales. Back in the 1980s it seemed that Apple, if it survived, would never have more than a niche market.
Jobs had a product vision. He wasn't an engineer & he didn't write code. What he brought to the party was the determination & drive to see his vision brought to life. It wasn't at all obvious that people would ultimately be willing to pay more for good design.
In an alternative life, Jobs would have likely been just as obsessive, treating the people around him just as badly. & if he hadn't become rich what would he have regretted at the end?

For men with PCa, I think that Jobs' approach to his own disease is worth looking at. After his death, there were articles saying that he was a fool to get involved in his own treatment, & should have had conventional therapy. But with pancreatic cancer diagnosed after it has progressed, the median survival (untreated) is about 3 1/2 months; with good treatment this increases only to about eight months. He did far better than that.
He may have talked the good talk, but in reality, Steve Jobs was a stupid man. He had everything a person could want, wealth, fame, you name it. He could by anything in the world, but in the end, he couldn't by his health. Instead of doing the 'normal' thing for his disease, he looked outside the box, and paid the ultimate price. If I'm not mistaken, he regretted his actions in the end. So, I say yes, Steve Jobs was a stupid man.
You are very correct Joe. All what you have said is included in those expressions, whoever has composed it. We can see what is meaningful and what is meaningless in our life.

Surely not stupid ,Joe. Maybe just like many geniuses, he did it his way and in this chapter he didn't do conventional but stuck to his beliefs and who could tell Mr Steve what to do anyway....All inventors take risk in their beliefs and let's face it they fail many ,many more times than then succeed.This one he lost..But the tech he created will morph on into many miracles for us all..for many yrs to come.
