Turned on a dime

I've only been a member of this group for a year, but I was diagnosed with mcrpc over four years ago and had many different therapies with few side effects, but that all changed a month ago. Yesterday we met with the oncologist and learned my liver is shutting down, so I am transitioning to in-house hospice care. I will miss your help and the ability to help you. Damn Cancer!

I am not insensitive enough to say it will all be OK, though I wish it would. I can tell you that my father's hospice experience was gentle and kind. I hope yours is, too. Peace to you.

I wish you well, Gecrellin. Thank you for sharing with us here. Hope you find some peace and comfort in the days ahead. This can be a good time of year, with sunny days, flowers, and cheeping birds. Hope you get to do some of that, too, besides the usual palliative medical stuff to keep you as comfortable as possible. The full Moon is nice this week, too.

Please have some faith brother. Too often hospice is considered a death sentence, when it should not be. My youngest brother, who is 53, has been in and out twice. Unfortunately, he wound up in the hospital yesterday, he's a brittle diabetic. But, he'll pull through. Our fallen brother Eric was a positive voice for hospice care. We may all be there someday, unless we meet that bus.

Peace, Joe

Very sorry to hear this . even in your most trying time you are still giving your brothers help . i always thought the liver was a resilient organ and hope it would recover. These meds we take are hard on that organ and we should try to clense and purify it supplement it milk thisle artichoke dandelion and more. Also take it easy on the wine and unnessary meds. All the best, rocco
