Adderall in San Antonio, Texas

is everyone else experiencing a shortage? All the pharmacies that I’ve called said they don’t have name brand or generic and I haven’t been able to get my prescription filled for weeks. What is everybody else doing?

Have you asked if they have another milligram? Some patients are switching to other stimulant medications until their medication is back in stock.

Hi, I live outside metro Atlanta and haven’t been able to fill my Adderall XR for the last two months. According to the pharmacies, the FDA allows for only so much of it to be manufactured/released in a year and the US used up the allowance in October (or November). I was told in January that in Feb they would have it at my pharmacy. Had an appointment with my Psychiatrist this morning and she said the manufacturers are backlogged and now it is likely to be March before pharmacies have it. Then she followed that statement up with, “yeah, but I heard some people have been able to get it at the CVS down the street”. I immediately tried that CVS and another one in another part of town and no luck. All the big box and small town pharmacies tell me they are back ordered on all the stimulants, not just Adderall.

How I’m dealing with it? Not well….my depression is worse, my word-finding skills are terrible and I feel like I have early dementia. Drinking more coffee and trying my best to use all my non-medicine strategies, but really suffering. Good luck to you and hang in there

I’m glad to hear it is not just me. I thought I was doing something wrong. Well, I hope they get it fixed soon. I have to run, some distraction is calling my name.

Sorry to hear. Have you tried a neighboring city? I don't know how feasible that is... I ran into shortage of meds late last year but was able to get some in another city in Texas. Good luck!

I don't use it, but I did hear that there is a shortage. It was reported on tv.
