troubles at work

having a very difficult time at work remaining focused on one task at a time. I often find myself with multiple windows open on my desktop, responding to multiple messages, and involved with way too many projects at one time. Very easily distracted and seems every input has the same level of importance as the last one. Trying to juggle and keep organized but failing drastically. ..Help!!!

I couldnt live without Trello. I create a Kanban board - trello.com. I use the app on my phone, but you can use the website. Its free.

In its simplest form there are 3 columns on the board side by side. Starting with adding items to the TODO column, called cards. You drag across no more 3 items at a time to the DOING column. Once complete drag these to the DONE column.

You can set due dates, create checklist within the cards and label them.

With Kanban, you dont need an app Post It notes will suffice. Im always on the move so the app on my phone is perfect.

Photos to follow... As you can probably see I'm a teacher, always expected pausing tasks to go and teach lessons. Hour here, half-hour there.

Start by putting cards in a todo list...

Drag cards you are working on to the DOING column. Limit items to 3. E.g. aim to finish by lunch. Breakdown the task into checklist or create seperate cards, if necessary.

Once the job is done, drag card to the DONE.

thanks for the information! I’ll definitely give it a try. I like the idea of controlling how many cards you can put in the doing column. Appreciate the recommendation
