How do you find your search and the trial and error for the right meds?

Figuring the right type of medications and then the right brand

1) Methylphenidate (MPH) - Focalin, Focalin XR; Concerta; Daytrana; Metadate CD

2) Amphetamines (AMP) - Adderall XR; Vyvanse

3) Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor like Strattera

4) Antidepressant - Bupropion sold under the brand names Wellbutrin and Zyban among others

For me, for my own use, I am very confused and nervous, and even more so for my kids who also have ADD.

Hi. Vyvanse was like a miracle cure for me for about a month then started having "Vyvanse crashes" and ultimately ended up in hospital terribly depressed and suicidal. Scary drug...beware if you have any history of depression.

I took my child's meds... Really helped to understand what she was feeling, and made me realize that I am AdHd. We went thru most of what u listed, some made her/me not able to sleep, sometoo mellow, some too strong, I actually love Vvyanse, but current insurance won't cover, so back to concerta. The 4 hr is too up and down. All feel kind of the same ... So for me it's delivery method. Chadd has a great med comparison sheet on their website

The problem it is so different from one person to another... And how long should one try out a specic med before deciding

My daughter had a genetic test. It told her what meds specifically would work. I've posted it here, on my profile
