need someone to talk to.

I feel like I am constantly self sabotaging. My mood seems to be getting depressed more and more. I'm not sure what I need. I'll keep going- what other choice is there. I'm not depressed to the point of being suicidal. I'm feeling like I'm moving through life with no future. It seems that when my mood is good it is fragile. I have been getting back into a depressed mood quickly and easily. Am I alone? What do you think I should do? I need friends and conversation.

Do yourself a favor and go to YouTube and look up the butterfly effect leadership, I too was feeling like you're feeling, with a f%@k everything and everyone attitude, it changed my prospective of things a week ago I was ready to quit a job of 4 years and do you see a councilor? Sounds crazy but even just talking about your week or certain things that's been a monkey on your back helps trust me when I say this I get how you feel, find your strong points and go in that direction, want a penpal? Seriously YOU CAN GET OUT OF YOUR FUNK, I'm making arrangements to meet with a psychiatrist to see if there's something else wrong not just ADHD and I learned that sometimes stimulants make those feelings worse

Hello, thank you for the response. I really appreciate your feedback. I'm on here to find some people to talk to in a similar situation to me. I'd like to penpal back and forth. what platform do you want to use? email, health unlocked.com, facebook ??? I just sat down to watch something so now I know what I'm going to watch! Thank you.

I was born and raised with ADHD,semi-dyslexia but can understand much more than what I had lead on when I was younger. I've been semi popular my whole life off and on,I'm Also a Gemini and although everyone gets along with me,I do have anxiety at times, I take Fish oil gel capsules.. its Omega 3 fatty acid and helps with alot.. keeps heart rate down from and anxiety rush.

I'm 33 years old, and don't think I'm not afraid to be in public,as I get older I don't find it any easier. I just Turn to Photography. I am also spiritual. And am learning all of my own intuition. midgetmom0608@gmail.com is my email. Having a penpal is amazing actually.

Hi Randy, I hope you’re feeling a bit better by now. I’m my experience, sometimes it’s depression and sometimes it’s just the meds wearing off (the only way to know the difference is if you feel better in the morning after you’ve taken them) if that’s the case try to adjust the timing, add a booster dose or even try something else but you’ll need to discuss it with your doctor first.

But if it’s just that shity feeling, I’m certain you’re not alone! ADHD or not, everyone gets depressed and it’s not something to be ashamed off, it’s something to face and deal with and you’re doing the right thing here! If you manage to get a few people with the idea of making a group chat just for support and a bit of harmless complaining I’m down for that!

I wish you all the best and Good luck!

It's just a shitty feeling. I haven't taken medication in a few years. I feel like the world is caving in on me sometimes; however, these are usually the times when I realize how much I can take and still keep going.

Sorry for the late response i had a lot of things going on for the past week or two. How are you doing now? it's good to know that you do realise those "downs" are temporary and they just show you how resilient you really are. can i ask why did you stop taking medications? where they any help when you used to take them?

TheDoubtfulMedic,

I took medications between 10 years old to 15 years old. I hated medication. I took myself off medication because I felt like a zombie. I took medication again briefly at 16. I didn't take medication again until about 28-29 years old. I took it for a few months and now at 32 I don't take it. I don't like prescription medication. I've been smoking pot for the past 2 years. I'm about ready to stop that because I've become somewhat lazy.

Emails get lost, so either fb or here

I have been exactly where you were when you wrote this. I know how easy it is to think that nothing you do matters. Many times I have asked for help without knowing at all what I’m even asking for.

It will get better. It’s hard to see the mountains high above you and think that you’ll never make it, but all you have to do is start climbing, you will get there eventually.

What got me through my darkest time was clinging to my close friends. Hearing an outside opinion can help you see that things aren’t as desperate as they may seem, and knowing that there are people supporting you that aren’t going to give up on you really helps too.

Another thing that helped me was music. I would put on a playlist of inspirational music and just sit and listen to it. One of my favorites was ‘I’m Not Dead’ by Boyinaband. Another favorite is ‘Life is Fun’ by TheOdd1sOut and Boyinaband.

I hope you are feeling better. If you want somebody to talk to I would love to help you out the way my friends helped me.

PS. I’m totally down for a group chat to complain about life and cheer each other up. Is it possible to make a group chat on this site?

You’re definitely not alone. I’m feeling the same way these days. It’s a bit different for me because in the past when I’ve been depressed it’s been severe. This time I just have this kind of “what’s the point?” feeling. I’ve been trying to make things the way I’d like them to be for a very long time, and I don’t think I’m any closer than I was 5 years ago. I’m able to get up and go through the motions because I have a wife and kids, but I’m exhausted and it’s so much harder to motivate myself when I’m just running on a treadmill that I’m eventually going to get too tired to keep up with. I don’t know what the solution is, but I thought it might help you to know that you’re not alone.

Please talk to a psychiatrist you like and are comfortable with, I’m surprised how much it helped me. Now that I feel my illness is under control with meds im now on phase 2 starting to make healthy daily rituals/routines which is going to make me become more accomplished less stressed and happier with myself and I’m also starting to find joy doing activities I used to enjoy that I haven’t done in a long time. Hang in there. You have our support. I hope you find someone to work with helping you get healthy

thank you. sorry for the late response. it's interesting getting back on this thread to see where I was 2 years ago.

I hope you are doing better. I have just recently started logging onto the site and posting so I know I'm responding to older posts.

Know that you are not alone. I have ADHD and anxiety and find it so hard sometimes because people don't seem so understanding at times. That's why I love this group because so many people can all relate. Know that this is a safe place to talk to and that we are here for you!

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, depression often affects adults with ADHD. I have heard that supposedly they suggest that half of all adults with ADHD also have an anxiety. What are things that help keeping your anxiety down?

Nice , you run. I used to run as a teenager and got feel good feelings from it. Because of COVID-19 I have time off from working and using this time to take small camping trips in my state. So far I went on 3 different camping trips I am so proud of myself because the last time I took a vacation was in 2010 and the time before that was in 2001
