Anyone having success

Anyone have any tips or advice? Been struggling for years. Finding the right cleanser, toner, mousterizer are useless to me at this point. Trying to focus on diet. Thoughts? Also been a proactive user for years... they constantly offer me free samples to try and find something that will work. Im over it! Cancelling with them this week.

Hi Dreamer,

I don't have a great deal of advice but really want this adult acne support sight to be more active! I don't know why there are so few posts on here.We can't be alone in living with adult acne surely?

Like you,I have tried so many products and spent a fortune hoping that this will be the one that works.

I am currently using Clarins. It's not aimed at acne prone skin but is very gentle and doesn't aggravate my skin.

Every other day I cleanse with salicylic acid and use the ordinary niacinamide under my moisturiser at night which I feel helps a little.

Hopefully we can get some others on board here to share tips and advice.

Good luck,I know how awful it makes you feel and really knocks your confidence.

That is so true. I do feel like Im sort of alone. A lot of people my age dont suffer the way I do. Many woman experience hormonal breakouts but very mild. My wedding is in less than 7 months and Im getting so desparate. Thanks so much for sharing. I too feel like the harsher products should be limited. When I exfoliate too much my skin hates me. Trying to find the right balance. Im still somewhat hopeful if I drink more water and limit dairy I can see a change.

Hey - I'm 29 and have suffered HORRENDOUSLY all my life. If it said it could clear my acne - i tried it. From giving up chocolate to becoming a skincare freak. Nothing worked. So i gave up and told my doctor i had had enough. I was also starting to get very anxious about it as it was so sore. I also can't take hormonal contraception coz it makes me go a little mad. So my GP tried me on Lymecycline. Take one a day, for 6 weeks she said and come back...

I have never ever had such a clear face! Please please go see a GP. They will be able to help you if you push them. I was on them for a total of 6ish months. I've been off them for about 2 months and nothing has come back and i've just been using a simple and gentle skincare regime.

I sometimes feel using acids make my skin worse... I read somewhere that drying your skin out makes your skin make much more oils to combat the dryness and sends you in a huge circle... Of excess oil. I just use a really light cleaners and always moisturise with a light SPF cream. Hope that helps a little! I know how lonely it can be and all people say is 'you'll grow out of it...' which isn't ever bloody true!

Yes I am working on limiting the acid ingrediants and using gentle cleanser. Thanks for your response!!! I think it is deft time to see a doctor! I dont use birth control either.. and im starting to get the big painful ones. Such a hard time going out in public with my job and not wanting to make time to apply makeup😫

I feel your pain, it's really not very well shared that people suffer. Doesn't help with instagram and these 'flawless' make up bloggers or whatnot. I still have scars from the big under the skin ones so best go sooner rather than later if that's starting! That really means its bacteria under the skin, and a topical treatment won't even touch as it's too deep under the skin unfortunately :(

I hope your GP can help you, and your wedding day you've got clear glowing skin!

I actually enjoy putting makeup on now that im not just using it to cover up everything haha. Let me know how you get on with the GP!

Hi Dreamer and Emmoooo,

It's me again. So pleased that someone else has posted on this site Em.

You are right about the Lymecycline and could really help you Dreamer.

I took this a few years ago and it did help at the time but due to other health issues I had to stop taking it.

Unfortunately,my skin got bad again so still searching for the one thing!!

Good luck Dreamer, this could be your answer to clear skin.
