Hi Everyone

I used to have good skin! Until, into my thirties and two children created. Now the area under my mouth and occasionally elsewhere is on a continual cycle of spots, the hard bumps that stay for ages (sorry- no idea of the name of this) and more often the ones that form heads. Now I’ve tried all the salyactic acid spot treatments etc but they look NO BETTER IN THE MORNING. So the ones with heads, I squeeze them because even covering up those terrible looking things does not hide the fact they are dirty great big spots waiting to explode. Now I’m stuck with scars. I’m fair with really dry skin and I’m seriously unhappy- this area is noticeable and horrible. I get the odd spot on my nose, which is also covered in open pores from squeezing. The doctor prescribed some gel treatment but my dry skin just got dryer. I find with he dry skin if I cover the spots up I just have a big obvious cover up mess so I squeeze and show the world the redness buecause it’s preferable to a yellow head. I feel a hopeless case,I spend my life reading about natural ways to help, I double cleanse in the evening and I use a BHA exfoliating product before bed. Any advice on getting rid of these constant breakouts (all month- no noticeable cycle - related times...) but at the same time not drying out my already dry skin? !

Hi, after thirty years of "adult acne" the diagnosis with which I was never sure was correct, I began excluding different foods. Finding I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant was the first step towards a solution. Funny that the antibiotics I was on for the adult acne contained a lot of lactose as a filler, so the antibiotics were trying to clear up the infections and the lactose was bringing me out in lumps and pustules! To cut a long story short, I had a deep clean from the doctor for mrsa and continue using octenisan with every bath, also off gluten and milk products. Now "adult acne" free. Very upset that it took thirty of years though.

Hope this helps Steve now 61
