What we think, we become.

Whatever it is- if we think we are doomed, we shall become it. If we think we are here to change the world, we surely are. The things you tell you tell yourself, from the time you wake in the morning, will become your reality.

What about people like myself who are limited to what they are capable of. They want a better life but struggle with finding what there capable of?

You limit yourself when you speak of your abilities in this way. You need to remind yourself that you already are the person you want to be. It’s not easy- but with practice it’s doable.

I’m not presenting any magic potion here. I’m not trying to convince you that you are suddenly going to grow extra limbs or come into riches because of the thoughts you think.

Rather, I’m implying that by persisting and not giving up on the things you want out of life, true universe will find a way to put you in situations that will give you the opportunities you want. If you try once and call yourself limited and don’t afford yourself the opportunity to continue trying, then you are very right in calling yourself limited- but you have done this to yourself.

I learned a term when I started exercising all the time. It was called “pushing through failure”. When we work out, we don’t just want to stop when we feel the aches and lactic acid building. We build muscle and strength when we continue to push even though our muscles feel they can endure no more. To do this we find less intense exercises that allow us to keep going, so that we can push on even though we are at the boundary of failure.

This can, and should be, a more generalized metaphor for life. You don’t give up because you’ve failed 5, 10, or 100 times. Not when it’s to achieve something you really want. Sure, if you try drawing and realize you aren’t any good at it and don’t enjoy it, then give up. But don’t accept your giving up as a limiting factor because you aren’t capable. You gave up- that’s the only reason you are limited in that regard.

Make sense?
