Said goodbye

My horse, Pepe, I had for 26 years. I was 12/13 years old when him and I became a team. Pepe turned 32 this year and that is very very old for a horse. We put him to sleep yesterday morning with his best friend Honey who was 24 years old. The two of them have been inseparable for the last 10 years and the person who owned honey said putting Honey and Pepe down together is the right thing to do. The vet said they both lived full lives and its better to do it now then later.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's a difficult decision when your pet/family has to be put down. We recently had an English Bulldog that was 13 years old, which is very old for a Bulldog. But to me it is the most unselfish thing you can do for your pet. Quality of life if so important to everyone, people and pets. They are not hurting or sick anymore. It takes a lot of courage to do the right thing. Thinking about the good times keeps them alive, in my opinion. I will be thinking about you, Honey and Pepe.
