I’ve been seeing a career coach for the past year. At the time I hadn’t been diagnosed with ADHD but I chose to see him after being laid off because he specialized in ADHD and I figured that could be beneficial even though I didn’t officially have it. I was lucky that my company offered a transitional stipend to use for coaching after the layoff. During the process, I had an “a-ha” moment that I may actually have ADHD and he concurred. Since then, I’ve been officially diagnosed and obviously learned a lot more about ADHD and myself. I’m still learning and seeing him. He has helped immensely through his enduring patience and understanding throughout this process and he inspires and coaches me to be more understanding and patient with myself and this journey.

We are trying to find a coach that services ADHD (and dyspraxia) adults. Elementary age coaches are in our area, but need to connect with them to see about servicing adults. A good coach is invaluable, I have heard. Good luck!
