Work issue

Hello! I'm new here so here goes!

I was removed from a position at work because I mistakenly took me son's medicine. You see I'm a driver and am subject to random drug screening. I take Ritalin LA and my son takes Adderall XR. One morning I took his by mistake and had a test at work and didn't realize until my drug screen came back. My question is this, am I offered any protection under the American Disability Act?

Thanks!

hey there - I once read/heard ADHD is not covered under ADA, it's a "disorder" and not a disability. Sounds like an honest mistake and that is a bummer, maybe your HR person is understanding or maybe you'll have to wait until time goes by and you can transfer back, if that is a thing. :/ Sorry to hear that.
