hi! I keep reading posts where people share valuable resources for parenting a child with ADHD. It would be great if we started one post that includes all our favorites (if that's "legal" in this community setting.)

I like the ADHD Dude on Instagram.

Explosive Child was a good read, by Ross Greene.

Taking Charge of ADHD, Revised Edition: The Complete, Authoritative Guide for Parents by

Russell A. Barkley

You can also find his talks on YouTube. Some folks have taken the liberty of breaking them up into shorter videos.

I also like the How to ADHD YouTube channel.

There's some people on Twitter and Instagram, but I've just started following them and don't know enough about them to recommend them. I like the ADHD Dinos cartoon on Instagram though.

I really have loved the podcast ADHD reWired. It is not specifically for kids but it has really helped me understand ADHD. The host, Eric Tivers, has ADHD and uses this podcast as a platform to help his listeners understand and deal with their ADHD. It has really helped me to understand what my son might be going through and how I can respond better to him.

For books, I loved anything by Ed Hallowell. Again, not specifically for kids but I love the way he takes ADHD seriously but doesn't see it as black mark to be dealt with but as a real advantage that is brought to light by good treatment methods.

Hi, I also like "How to ADHD" on youtube, it's been really helpful sometimes for us to watch some videos together with our kids to help them have some more awareness. I also like the Tilt Parenting podcast with Debbie Reber and I've listened to some episodes of "In it" podcasts on Understood.org. I haven't finished it but "ADHD 2.0" by Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and Dr. John J. Ratey is a good reference so far.

If anyone has any suggestions for sources that specifically support or study girls with ADHD (tween/teens), in particular their social lives, let me know. Thanks!

From Chaos to Calm, by Janet E. Heininger and Sharon K. Weiss. It's excellent. If you read any of it, read the 3-page Introduction. It concisely articulated what I had been going through as a parent, and how I had been feeling for so long. Highly recommend.

I have found the “ADHD Smarter Parenting” podcast and website to be extremely helpful. The book “8 keys to parenting children with ADHD” by Cindy Goodrich has also been clutch for us.
