Hello parents of energetic and creative children! I am a social worker new to working with children with ADHD. I hope this is not innappropriate since I am not a parent of an ADHD child, however, I am very very interested to learn from the best, the parents. My career is taking me to provide neurofeedback therapy to help decrease the symptoms of ADHD without the use of medication. Im an reading some of the comments and find that most questions relate to medication. Has any parent here had any positive or negative experience with neurofeedback therapy to treat your child?. Honestly, Im just trying to learn and get a sense if what Im beginning to do, is actually as helpful as the research shows. Feel free to reply and if you feel I should not be on this forum, please do let me know. Thank You!!

Thanks for joining our group. Some parents have direct experience with neurofeedback. I attempted to use it for my migraines and found I spent way to much time with sessions and "learning" to calm my heart rate and breath different, I still have very very bad migraines and have finally may have found the cause.
I have not tried it for myself but found It was not able to make a difference for me.
Best of luck with your career.
