Hello everyone. I am mom to an amazing 7.5 year old boy who was diagnosed at 5 with high functioning autism and tests high for ODD. We have been through the ringer! Last year he was showing so much progress at school we were all thrilled, but this year it is bad. He has reverted back to his old behaviors and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't talk to the teacher, or the principal or have to go an pick him up. Honestly I am at the breaking point, so just finding this group is so amazing. I am hoping to find support here as we all travel through the tough situation of raising kids with learning disabilities.

New here, hoping to find support
I could have sworn I posted this an hour ago, so I apologize if this is a double post. Welcome! Everyone her is so supportive and helpful! I am so sorry that you had progress and then a set back, for me the roller coaster has been the hardest part! I live in fear of checking my email on a daily basis and I LOVE the weekends when I know I'm not going to have to deal with that! Please post any concerns you have or questions, there are so many people here that have information and advice.
Tonight I am very tired, but I also know that my daughter is an amazing human being. She is sleeping beside me peacefully. I live for these moments.
Hugs to you! The backsliding is so demoralizing. I love that you first describe your son as amazing. These kids are amazing! And they are so so hard too. Hang in there and good for you for reaching out for support. This is such a good group. I know it has helped me to know I’m not the only one out there with these struggles. You are definitely not alone.
