Great article! What I think is most important is that parents not wait to seek treatment for their child with ADHD. To often they are at their wits end becuase the child is misbehaving and in all kinds of trouble and then they start getting help. Or they seek other treatments that don't really work for a long time, mean while there is an impact on the child emotionally, socially and in school.

I am also sorry there is such a mistruct and parents with the medical community which makes so many people seek other treatments.

I hope other parents take the time to read this article.

I'm glad you like it! One of the possibilities in seeking alternative treatments -- one in place of standard treatment -- is a delay in getting care that is effective. That can have an effect on a child at home, socially, and at school. As Dr. Arnold says, you need to weigh the risks of following a treatment -- standard or alternative -- against the risks associated with not following that treatment.
