I am on slow release morphine tablets, my skin is on fire all of the time, all over itching like crazy. I have scratched until its raw. Any suggestions on what I can use to ease the itch so I can have some skin left 😄

Hi there DAML8Sorry to hear this 😞 I too had the same problem when I was on morphine. In the end from the advice from my doctor I had to wean myself of it and go onto slow release oxycodone which although it's still an opiate and weirdly enough stronger than morphine it solved the problem.

I only get small episode's now of itchy skin all over.

We definitely know now I have a reaction to morphine as I was in hospital just recently , where I had morphine injected and OH MY I felt like I had been bitten by thousands of bugs.

Maybe you might have to change and come of morphine to

Good luck 🤞

You appear to have allergy to the Morphine this is common. Take Antihistamines to help. Try to take breaks from Morphine every 24 to 48 hrs and use co-dydramol those days. You can not take both painkillers on the same day. Or return to Doctors for other creams and pain killers.
