Bleeding mouth , nose from coughing. Dark and very thick blood!! Please help!!

Tonight after dinner I cough a bit and blood starting coming out my mouth and nose. I called an ambulance they said 30 min at least, after 15 min I stop bleeding I felt physically ok so I cancelled the ambulance. After few hours I cough again and the bleeding started to but only for few min!! The blood was very thick and very very dark , I didn’t know what that was I never Experience anything like it !! Now I am scared to cough I am trying not to but is hard!! I do have DVT but I don’t think that would be the reason for me coughing up blood and that much I lost more than half pint of blood!! Any ideas guys?? Did any of you experience something like that? Please if you do I like to hear it!! Thank you

Hi Marcolove,This must have been so scary for you and I completely understand why you'd be panicked by it. If you are on an anticoagulant for your DVT, this bleed may have been a spontaneous one, which sometimes, unfortunately does happen while you are taking one. You need the advice of medical professionals who can explain what's going on, but, as a little reassurance for you, this kind of unexpected bleeding does occasionally just happen in this way with anticoagulants.

Are you bleeding internally? I was bleeding out in my stomach, and my groin was swollen and painful. CHECK IT OUT!
