Hi everyone,

I am due to have an mri on my knee tomorrow, I am on acenocoumerol (same as warfarin) just feeling a bit anxious about it.

Hi there,

Just make sure everyone who needs to know, knows you are on this ... acenocoumerol.

That's all I did.

The issues came much later when my surgeon decided to do a partial knee replacement. I was on ( and still am, for life, ) Warfarin and had to stop it for some 6 days prior to surgery in order to get my INR score down to 0 or 1 ( normal). As soon as surgery was over I received 2 injections of Fragmin ( a bridging anticoagulant) and then that evening back onto my normal Warfarin dose and life went on as usual - apart from the process of recovery.

No need to be anxious. Good luck.

John
