Reading about CBD oil claims for pain relief, been on anticoagulants for decades. Struggling with pain in the knees caused by wear and tear, surgery looks like it may be on the cards. As long term warfarin and now Doac user, I have never taken anti -inflammatories or been offered cortisone type injections...
Seeking UK/ European clinical advise/guidance on this if anyone can share.

I haven't heard that it is unsuitable for people on blood thinners, but frankly, it does less than nothing for me! I've tried! I would have liked to have tried turmeric, but that *is* contra-indicated for us, alas (I don't think the amount we use in a curry matters, just not the amount in tablets).
Hi Tillyclot, I have the same knee problem and like you have been on warfarin for ages. Unfortunately there are so many things cannot take because of interactions with warfarin.
Have been using Pernaton Gel ( Green Lipped Mussel Extract) rubbing on knee for the last few weeks and I must say my knee pain is much improved and it hasn't affected my INR results.
I'm on warfarin and was vaping CBD oil for a couple of months. At my INR check my levels were super high, so I did some research and found it does affect the anticoagulant. I was determined to carry on taking it, as I wanted my dosage of warfarin to be as low as it could be. However, it also affected the immuno suppressant I'm taking after a transplant op, so had to give it up.
Cbd can interact with anticoagulant. I believe it causes anticoagulant to remain in liver for longer which is dangerous. I take something called palmitoylethalamide for neuropathic pain it works!! Best one is from company called Life Extension under product name ComfortMax. It has no known interactions as it is a fatty acid we naturally produce in our body just not enough for extreme pain. I take two pills together as I need them overnight but try as directed and see if works for you. Will do you no harm.

I take something called ComfortMax From a company called Life Extension, which is a fatty acid called palmitoylethalamide. It has no interactions with any other drugs. I suffer from neuropathic paid in my feet which go into painful spasms. I tried cbd oil but trouble is you become used to it and have to keep increasing the dose until it becomes unaffordable. It is also not advised with anticoagulations
