Missed Warfarin

I take my warfarin 6mg at night {10.30pm).is it OK to take a missed dose early next morning then continue doses a s normal?

You should really ask your GP or Pharmacist. However, I have missed out altogether at different times and just carried on the next scheduled time. In effect, you'll miss a dose for 24 hours. Usually advisable not to play the catch up game.

I guess you are not in the U.K. because of the time. it takes around 3 days I believe for Warfarin to take effect

I would do nothing you can ask your nurse doctor tomorrow.

in the U.K. we never take a double dose of Warfarin, we just inform the nurse when we have our next blood test, so try not to worry

In New Zealand, we are told just to continue on until next dosage is due but take note of date you forgot to take the missed dose. usually you are asked at your next blood test if you have missed any doses.

Agree with others, not wise to do a 'catch up' dose.

Hiya, my son takes warfarin at 6pm (in the UK) and in his notes it says: he can take it any time up till midnight (12am), but after that to just wait till the next dose.

It’s worrying though, so probs best to speak someone. Is there a medical helpline or pharmacist near that you could ask to put your mind at rest?
