There definitely are but I don't know much about them as here in Spain I'm on sintrom (acts on vitamin K like warfarin) which isn't available in the UK. Try scrolling down previous posts here for brand names then google them.

Totally depends why you're on it, in the UK the only thing I can take for a mech mitral valve is Warfarin. I believe there are other less dangerous alternatives if you're taking it for different reasons.

It depends why you are on it first? You can only be on warfarin if you have a mechanical heart valve but there are other meds if this is not the case.

There are at least 4 - two of then are rivaroxaban and apixiban, abs there are two others whose names escape me. Ask at the clinic next time you go to have your blood tested.

Why do you ask for an alternative?

Sintrom can be got here in the uk,I'm on it as I had multiple pe's when living in BG.When I returned to the uk last year I asked if they could supply me with it here in the uk and it was not a problem.

If anyone has told you different they are telling porkies.

Maybe it's because the doctor has never heard of it,which I have found out when talking to numerous doctors.
