I have been diagnosed with DVT in my calf on 5/8/18. I had Deltaparin injections for 8 days and now I am on Edoxaban 60mg for 3 months.

Is it safe for me to fly to France at the end of September?

Double-check with your doctors, but it's such a short flight (assuming you are flying from the UK), it should be. Especially if you wear compression stockings and stay fully hydrated (you can usually refill your water bottle once you get through security - if there isn't a water fountain, they'll usually do it for you in a cafe or bar).

Having said that, France has such a good network of high-speed trains that it's hardly necessary to fly anywhere in it these days. The Eurostar from London gets to Paris very quickly and then the TGVs go all over. You can even get trains directly from London to Lyon, Avignon and Marseille, without having to change! Of course, you may not be in easy reach of London so this won't work for you.

Just to add I was told not to fly for 3 months after my clots last year, so your doctors mightn't like the idea. If you CAN go by train, I would!

Thank you for replying. The doctor at the hospital told me I was not allowed to fly until 4 weeks after treatment finished. I'm confused. Who do I believe?

The doctor at the hospital! If he says not until 4 weeks after treatment finished, then don't fly. There are plenty of other ways of getting to France - even, if need be, coach and ferry.... I should add that if you do fly, the chances are your chest will regret it, even if the rest of you doesn't!
