Before being prescribed any anticoagulant, you should always advise your doctor of any other medicines, over the counter treatments including vits and minerals and hoemopathic therapy you are taking as warfarin can be sensitive to interactions with the above.

Suggest you speak with your Dr or pharmacist for advice. If you are able to tolerate one of the newer anticoagulants which are licenced for Atrial Fibrillation but work differently to warfarin and may not have the same challenges with interactions , this may be an option.

Thank you Tillyclot for the advice, I haven’t up to now told the Doctor or any Health Practice person but I will come Monday visit the Surgery and have a chat with someone who can advise me.

Idk if K2 ia equal to K.... however, I would talk to your Doctor(s). I had a consulting Pharmacist, who worked directly with my Hematologist sit with me and go through all of my supplements. I would call them up and ask asap so you don't have any conflict with your warfarin. Also, there may a DOAC drug that may work better for your needs. I am scheduled to consult with a second opinion coagulation specialist in August to see if Apixaban/Eliquis or one of the other DOACs may be better for me as I am a life long anticoagulant user due to a second DVT this year.

Sending you my best wishes for healing and prayers as well. Take care of you, best - Nancy

Thanks for your good wishes Nancy, my Doctor insisted I take Warfarin the reason being that it is easily monitored. I did say that I eat a great deal of Greens an was reluctant to regulate them but the response was just cut back, “brick wall”

Yes, I understand the worry about the greens--- I have gained weight between my lack of healthy salads and my dvt leg pain... I cannot exercise like I used to. For me the diet part has been the worst part. Hence my interest in the DOAC drugs. But not everyone can take them depending on the issue/diagnosis.

Is there an option for you to get an additional opinion on your medication? I have seen a Cardiologist (though my DVT is not heart related) and hematologist, both local to me--- and in Boston, I am seeing a Coagulation Specialist/Hematologist in August as a second opinion and this week a second Cardiologist, before I attempt/decide to switch from Warfarin. If I can, I always get at least two opinions on any diagnosis/treatment referral etc. I hope your appointment today was informative and helpful to you!
