Are you on Warfarin ? I would ask to see another GP. I am not a doctor so unable to advise about this, but if it were me I would question the people who look after your INR ? If clinic I would phone them and ask for advise

Oh what blood test was 4.8 I was thinking it was your INR. I would still ask to see a different doctor at your practice

If you are concerned then yes, do go to A&E. Blood clots are not to be trifled with. Having had 3 pe's 30 years ago, one of which still remains in one lung, I was relieved when I was under the care of a haematologist who took the situation seriously and did extensive tests. The outcome of which showed I had a faulty prothrombin gene (not a Leiden Factor gene) and was borderline anti-phospholipid syndrome (Hughes Syndrome). One of my children has inherited the gene and the other refuses to be tested. Knowing if you have a blood clotting problem is immensely useful when undergoing future medical (including dental) treatment. Anne
