Welcome here walkjohn. There are others like me and you trying to lose weight in our older years, some having success and some just about managing our health. Do tell us more about yourself to start the conversational ball rolling.

hello ,suryakaizen

I live in Perth Australia, I've lived here for 28 years, but was born and bred in Scotland, I'm not working now due to illness, (pulmonary emboli,) I've had this twice, and I'm now on blood thinners for the rest of my life, I used to work in the mines as a mechanical engineer, all over Australia doing contract work, I really miss working and my old work mates.

Thank you for that introduction walkjohn. I'm 68, live in India, used to be a banker but have been working with NGOs (charitable organisations) from 27 years. I used to travel on work a lot, and enjoyed it. Following a ligament injury 10 years ago, I've become far less active. I'm sorry that your illness made you give up a very active work life. There are many of us on this forum - nurses, counselors, corporate personnel... who are in the same boat. We look for ways to deal with our life in changed health situations. I love reading and music. What about you?

Hello suryakaizen

I used to be a great reader but find it hard these days to concentrate ,my mind wanders to other things, as for music the only time I listen to music is when I'm driving, maybe that will change as I get older,

I am new to this forum, but not walking. I walk everyday, some for work, some for pleasure. It is such a great way to get moving and start exercising.
