The Active 10 app is a fantastic way to help people build more physical activity into their daily routine, which can have a number of health benefits. Just a 10 minute brisk walk a day gets the heart pumping faster, can make you feel better, more energetic and improve your mood. Over time, it can also help to lower the risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Hundreds and thousands of people have downloaded the app and so we’re looking for those people to act as case studies and share their stories to help inspire others to make simple changes and build more physical activity into their lives.

If you’ve got a positive experience to tell and would like to find out more about sharing your story, please reply to this post or contact active10@freuds.com and we can tell you more.

What a great idea. I used Active 10 when I was recovering from donating a kidney to my husband. It was great to have the slow build up and then use it to get back to fitness. After they had to cut my stomach muscles I found the app brilliant to help me with a structured exercise program. I found it was a great precursor to getting back into running when I was ready.

Hi realfoodieclub, thanks for sharing your story. Would you be happy to email us at active10@freuds.com so that we can ask you some further questions about your story? Thanks!

I found the forum by lucky accident! I had recently moved and was searching for local clubs/societies. This was last June and at that time I could only manage to walk 200 steps, not climb stairs at all and was horribly overweight. I'd been told years ago that because I have osteoarthritis of the spine, as well as herniated/thinned discs I could look forward to continued lack of mobility. Well, almost a year later, with support and encouragement from the members of this forum and a structured walking plan that caters for people like me, I now walk 3500 steps three times a week! I also brisk walk - only 6 minutes as I still can't manage 10 - on three days. In addition I'm 3 stones lighter and my type 2 diabetes is totally under control! I walk with the help of a sholley - I'm not steady enough to walk without support - but feel absolutely embraced by the Active 10 community. The programme has totally changed my life! I feel 10 years younger (I'm 68) and so much happier. I would encourage anyone to follow the Active 10 walking programme - especially if, like me, you have some health/mobility problems.
