No pain meds

I’ve been taken off my pain medication except for paracetamol I’m under the pain clinic and because I was on zomorph I had to come off that before starting something new however once off zomorph they put me oxycodone which had little effect on my pain so now I’ve been left with nothing except paracetamol for the last month. I cannot see my pain team due to the covid19 and my gp won’t prescribe me anything either so I have been left crippled and have been thinking what’s the point. I don’t know where to turn to next so I’m hoping here I may get some answers

Hi very difficult i know what your going threw you could ring your doctor to get call back , and explain to them that you need something better and how you feel .

You can ask to see your pain team via video call, just request that. Tell your GP it’s urgent as your mental health is suffering.

Yea, Oxycodone is a real potent tablet, I'm surprised they didn't slowly increase that tablet into your system. Zomorph too is a good drug when increased to a higher dose. Paracetamol will not have much of an effect on you ailment. There must be some reason your GP would not help considering your in constant pain. I think you need to go back and plead your case with a bit of 'pressure'. Good luck.

Yea, This stopping of opioid medication winds me up as its always due to ''experts'' who have no pain themselves. The real experts, in reference to pain, are the people who suffer physical pain daily and not some bookworm person coming up with stupid ideas. I know the distress, depression, loneliness and suffering we go through daily. I for one need pain relief thru' opioids after many years with severe spinal stenosis. And at 75 I may just be right.
