The Pain

There are times when you wake up from sleep and realise that the peaceful and happy dream was actually just a dream. You roll onto your back to face the ceiling and find yourself thinking of the bad. The things that stress you out, the things that swarm your mind until you can't take no more.

Why is it that although your mind feels the pain that you feel, it still allows the dark thoughts to drift in the minute you are conscience?

I never understand why our body allows us to feel this way when it knows the pain it will feel.
