This is basically what I'm getting on EVERY flipping site I've been on, what do I do now? I mean I'm trying to get help but so far all attempts are at a standstill through no fault of my own 😑

Assuming you are in the UK , you need to see your GP who may refer you to a psychiatrist. Getting a GP appointment should be relatively easy and should n't result in a standstill.

Further to my other reply, I had a look at the pysch central self tests . I'm not in any way qualified medically but have some reservations about many of the self dianostic tests they have and I would recommend even more strongly you see your GP.

It is important that your diagnosis is not self administered and even for GPs and psychiatrists diagnosing bipolar, especially bipolar 2 is notoriously difficult. Whether the defined diagnostic "boxes" they like to place us in are valid is another can of worms also as all our experiences and the result on our minds of those experiences are different. However after all, the medics have to start somewhere and they are still to a large extent groping in the dark.

Despite the lack of adequate knowledge the situation is slowly improving and you GP ,and if referred ,Psychiatrist shoulkd be able to prescribe some help. I'm sure psych central are trying to help as well but see your GP.

Hello, I can only echo Olderal's advice, go and see a GP and get a referral to a Psychiatrist. GP's shouldn't diagnose Bipolar as it is a much more severe and complex mental disorder, and beyond their expertise. My advice would be to write down your symptoms and tell the GP those, most GP's will roll their eyes if you tell them you have taken a test online, so best not to mention it, they don't like Dr Google!! When you say you are trying to get help, what have you tried? and why has it not worked? My understanding of these sites is that there is some kind of Pharmaceutical Company sponsorship paid to the website to run the tests. The more tests run, the more diagnoses, the more pills sold, the larger the profits etc, etc. By offering the test, they get around advertising restrictions. Anyhoo, get youself of to the GP. Take care.
