Hiya guys

Hi guys regarding taking the sertralaine with amitryptiline, I woke up during night absolutely soaking thru sweating and felt like I was having a panic attack, my heart was pounding and I was shaky, I've never woke up like that suddenly, is this a side effect of the tablets, any suggestions.

Hi Phil , I am on sertraline 100mg per day . Also diazepam 5mg pd . Not sure if these drugs mixed together have any side effects . I' would have thought your dr would not have prescribed them both to you if there were . How long have you been taking both these meds ? As it can take a good 6-8 weeks before you start to feel the effects . I have dark days but I am able to cope more now with everyday situations . Have you looked on Google ? .. I did have side effects with the sertraline , my symptoms increased for a good two weeks. . Hope you find out why ! Good luck .

Hi millie I was prescribed them last Friday, I know not long but I'm just worried about waking up during night feeling like I was I was in the process of having a panic attack.

Give these medications a little bit more time. You could if wanted go on NHS Choices web page and look up both medications, that should put your mind at rest as well. There are also explanations of taking two medications like above if there are any problems

Remember we are not Doctors here, we would generally suggest talking to your GP.

That's not long at all Phil , I had been taking mine for two weeks maybe more and I actually felt worse . But my dr told me to stay with it and he was right . There is on Google of you type in contradictions with others meds . It will tell you on there . Even if you walk with a Panic attack it's not going to hurt you . Ask your doctor . I have never looked back .. Feel so much better even if it did take months .. Good luck ! .. Linda . Let me know how you get on 😊

Yes sweating and palpitations can be a side effect. Have you seen your GP to get the palpitations checked out ?

I take Citalopram with that medication and have done for a long time all in my case is fine.

We are all different so you need to take advice of your GP to be sure. All can also be dependent on how long you have been on your medications, you need to give both drugs time

Talk to your GP it sounds like either Anxiety or Side effects

Hi ,I took amitryptiline a couple of years ago and it started real bad anxiety which I hadnt had for twenty years.We are all different but I wouldnt touch it again
