This one is for females only

Hello everyone! I am now menstruating and my PTSD symptoms are more intense. Because of my PTSD, i feel kind of disconnected from people and when i do associate with people i feel even more anxious. Part of me wants to keep to myself, but i also think that i would be wasting my life away by isolating myself even if its only during my period. How should i handle this?

  • You should probably see a gyn. and get it settled as this will be happening for a long time obviously. I think hormone levels change and cause symptoms to increase. I always went a little crazy and then had to apologize . I just couldn't trust my feelings during those times, but I always felt better on birth control pills. Isn't there a women's health facility on campus? I guess I would start there. Good luck, Pam

  • I recommend birth control pills too. I am a bit crazy just before I go on my period. It's my warning sign. I get angry really easy and cry at the drop of a hat.

  • So glad I'm past that, but I remember it well.

  • Me too Pam thank goodness.

  • I made an appointment today for Tuesday. Thank you for the advice and I will try to get something in the meantime.
