Help with citalopram

Hi I started taking citalopram yesterday 10mg. Yesterday I woke up and was sick twice. And I have just dozed off and instantly woke up in a panic. My heart was racing, I was shaking, felt dizzy and felt like I wasn't in my body. I managed to take control and soon calm myself down but it scared the hell out of me. Is this normal??? Please help!!

That's not a good reaction, it may just be coincidence, but I would check with out of hours Dr, as that side effect is not going to do you much good, good luck X

Generally you need to give this drug time to work.

It will take upwards of six weeks to feel the benefit, the contraindications you are suffering from are listed with the drug.

If you feel so very uncertain put your mind at rest. See your GP
