15mg of Mirtazapine helps you to sleep. Its the lowest dose, the highest is 45mg. Hope you get sorted. x

thanks. does it have lots of side effects x

15mg no side effects. It does help you to sleep. x

I agree with that brooke as I take them at night too and they definitely do help me sleep. I find 15mg too strong though so I cut them in half. x

Hi, I have been on Citalopram 20Mg for almost 4 weeks now. Think it has helped my depression and anxiety but my sleep pattern has been blown apart. I'm not sure it's my worried mind waking me at 2am and not getting off again or it's the meds. Seeing GP again on 21st Dec so will see what he suggests....maybe Mirtazapine as mentioned in other posts.

Hi Barrie I was taking 20 mg cit at night thought it was either the meds or my mind keeping me awake.switched to morning for cit was better on a night but not a lot.i got some hypnosis apps on my phone and started to put ear phones in to listen to the recording this helped loads as it focused my mind on listening to the recording and not my busy mind.i was also using zopiclone when I was desperate I've now dropped to 10mg cit I get 4/5 hours natural sleep.i still listen to my chattering brain and still have restless sleep but I'm reading lots about how to change my thoughts also had counselling.reading change my brain change my life by Daniel g amen.I've recently gone back to work after 8 months of .I had depression anxiety I think I will always have traits of these but I deal with them now they are part of me.i believe they have changed me and made me a better person I happen this helps.ps the hypnosis does take your mind off your problems and you fall asleep naturally.

Thanks welly10 I will have a look for the hypnosis apps for my phone, sounds like a really great idea. I am receiving some very good counselling privately as well as reading self help books on anxiety, irritability and anger, low self esteem, and depression (not all at the same time I must add). I hope your return to work is going well for you.

Kind regards,

Barrie

if you have depression bad[[ hypnosis wont penatrate your mind, deppresion owns that. all the books in the world wont help, you can only help yourself but first you depression must be in remission. i have has CTB its rubbish i am not scared of people ??fight or flight, some person that never has been ill trying to tell you your not ill is wrong in many ways, there not looking out your eyes, therapy is the same , if you have 1 thing that triggers you it may help , but chronic anxiety and depression are triggered by anything at anytime nobody can stop that. if you find remission is the key, then live life to the full because depression will be back to bite you on the bum, could be 5 years or 5 weeks

4 weeks is not long enough , its started to help your depression be a while yet before sleep pattern returns to normal , do like i do stay up watching tv till your fall off, 2 am most nights for me, better than rolling round a bed all night.

It really does help with the depression. the thing is to not stop taking it once you start feeling better.
