I am afraid of how I feel.i feel exhausted all the time and all I want to do is sleep.i think I may have lost touch with reality and finding it hard to live life. I am a kind of person that would do anything for anyone, but now I am oooo so tired.when I start to think of anything my head starts to pound.i have lost a lot of weight, as for the triggers I have many.

I was feeling like that for the last few days, perked up a bit today, maybe because got the required rest, or due to medication.

It might help to briefly (or not so briefly) outline what you feel is most getting you down, I know this is a chore when you're feeling very down, but might elicit constructive comments. xxx

PS. What areas have you explored as a possible cause to your symptoms. In my case, have always been depressed, but discovered last year that I also have (or contributed to depression) a thyroid problem. Initially self-diagnosed, but NHS finally in line with diagnosis.

Also, certain vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause low moods.

Have you found a way to counter act the deficiencies and the thyroid problem? Does it feel better to have some idea about what this might be about even if it is only an answer in part?

Feeling lost and lonely does pass, sometimes it helps in the midst if you can remember that, you know like that saying "and this too will pass", may not fix things but helps to know its transient, that you cant feel that every minute of everyday.

I hear Thyroids can be a real bugger I really feel for you, I hope it gets sorted out, you are probably stronger than you think having a problem like that as its all about hormones isnt it? I really hope they can help you sort this out.

Hi CarolineLondon, I think it was my anxiety that led to adrenal problems which led to thyroid problems. Hard to know if thyroid problems had some part initially.

Oh poor you, blooming body should come with spare parts, you should be able to upgrade, or take out the faulty thyroid and clip in the new working one. I really feel for you but Im impressed that even in your own way you are handling this, well done its not easy.

That's sweet of you CarolineLondon, luckily healthunlocked, thyroid forum members, have been very helpful in coming up with a diagnosis, unlike my GP who ignored the 7 then 8 TSH and fatigue symptoms for 10 years.

The feeling of loneliness is hard to bear. As everyone knows, you can be in a crowd and still feel lonely. It's not the lack of people as such in your life which causes loneliness but the lack of people to love, be close with, have a deep connection with, share things with.

I would like to ask you why you are having these feelings. I think you need to search for the cause before it will be possible to relieve your sadness. Can you pinpoint a particular time or event after which came the onset of your loneliness or is it a feeling which you think you have always had? x.

The feeling I have always had.i am really anxious because this anxiety has even made my voice different,of which I am contious of.my stress etc worsened over the last few years, gave my job up because of it, always wise to look back on life afterwards and realise your mistakes.now I am going to find it really hard to get a job.i am so stressed that my limbs especially legs are really weak.feels like I have the flu,but I haven't,feels like I am on a downward spiral and can't find any way of getting back up.

Hi, I know how you feel I work in a school surrounded by over 300 staff and 1500 students yet feel lonely every day. I try to put myself out there but end up feeling ejected (I don't know if I am being rejected or if its the depression) I spend most of my time alone in my office as it is easier to take myself away than risk it. I wish I could help you...

Hello Wagtail,

I read your previous post. I saw you have been depressed, for a very long time.

First of all, it is important for you to realise that depression is an illness. It doesn't always have a reason, but descends on you, like a black cloud that swirls around you.

In some cases, the cloud stays and doesn't lift. You definitely need help. It is good that you have a CPN. I had one for over 10 years.

It may take time to find the right combination of medication. In my case, I did end up with a combination that worked. I still get a bit depressed, but it soon passes.

Please accept all the help that is offered to you. It is there for you and is very worth while. When you feel better, you will have the rest of your life to look forward to.

Love

Dear Wagtail, it will take time and right now it is very hard for you to see any light through the darkness. As I came slowly out of my darkness, I called that long lonely time my "Dark night of the soul"

Please remember, YOU HAVE AN ILLNESS, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.

Once you begin to discuss with your CPN the options available to you, things will become clearer.

Don't beat yourself up about being ill. It is a sad fact of life, that many people tend to back off, when you have severe depression.

What you have is a severe long term illness. It needs to be managed long term, as it will always be lurking underneath.

If it goes away with medication, you will need to keep taking it.

Try to smile, even though your heart is breaking, as the song goes. I used to sing it to myself a lot.

Love and very best wishes.

You are definitely not alone.

Here you are among friends xxx
