Hi, I live in North Carolina, USA. I suffer from chronic depression and anxiety. There are times that I just cry for no reason and do NOT want to go and do anything. I used to be so lively and now I panic at the thought of having to go to the grocery store and other things that are silly, so my husband says.

Hi there and a big welcome! You'll have a lovely time here :)

I'm sorry to hear that things aren't so good for you just now, however lots of us can relate to those times when we just have a good sob for no reason. It happens to me a couple of times a week.

What support / treatment are you currently receiving for your situation?

Looking forward to getting to know you,

Lucy x

I take medication to help and I do talk with my dr about things, but it doesn't always seem to help. I do get up and try every day. If one day isn't good, then I stay home and try again tomorrow. and now I have a forum to come to helps as well. Thank you. :D

Hi there,

This happens a lot and I used to look at people going into the supermarket and think, 'Why can't I do that?'.

With a lot of help, support and therapy I do now go shopping but still get a little anxious about it. But I can do it.

I had a bad day last week when I was crying and very anxious and those backward steps do happen.

Have you seen your doctor at all?? They may be able to help you with meds and/or therapy.

If we could 'Snap out of it', don't people think we would. I would give anything to be able to 'snap out of it..... but that's not going to happen quickly.

This is a great site with lovely supportive people, welcome. Julie xx

I couldn't understand people with fears over the silliest of things...now I am one of those people with fears over the silliest of things and sometimes I do laugh at myself. I am on medication to help with the intensity of what I am feeling. I do go to the grocery store and lots of people smile at me and I have never been one that people would take note of. It does make it easier when they smile. I have people occasionally talk with me throughout the store, which is funny. Why do these people approach me? LOL

Hey daylne it's not silly at all .. I've been going through the exact same things for some years now . I don't think some people understand how hard day to day tasks can be when someone's suffering with depression :/ I really do understand how you feel x
